Re: LEGO Store grand openings

They've updated the Events page for the NYC store with descriptions of the grand opening events and pics of the 15' apple model and the Grand Opening Store Exclusive set, which is also an apple, but looks a bit... off...

Re: Lego 8684 Collectable Minifigures Series 2

Brickset just published a news article with a link to an online store that has the only release date I've heard, and it's for Europe - specifically Germany. There it says September, so I'm thinking my first estimate of Nov/Dec. for N. America seems almost spot-on, maybe October/November. With a witc...

[MOC] KZ65000 Speederbike

The things I plan on focusing on in MOCS are Speederbikes, Hovercars and Starfighters. While I've not yet created a Hovercar, I've done one mini-scale Starfighter and two Speederbikes. This one is, in my opinion, the stronger of the two. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4008/4498330521_c49e9e27c4.jpg ...

Now I just need them to make 2 more bounty hunters and I can recreate some of The Empire Strikes Back. The previous incarnation of Slave 1 featured IG-88 and Dengar, if those are the two you're referring to... I don't think they've ever made a Zuckuss of 4-LOM, I guess those will come with the next...

I haven't seen them anywhere myself, nor have I heard of anyone seeing them yet. They were made available on amazon.fr (the French site) a while ago and Huw over at Brickset bought almost all of them as the shipping from France to England wasn't too unreasonable to get them months in advance, but it...

Re: [POLL] What do you think of our news coverage?

Yeah, if you did a "MOC of the Week" post that would probably be enough... or one post every week with a "MOC Roundup" or something - I don't think each and every MOC that's of high caliber necessitates an individual news story. I could see Tuesdays having a "Weekly MOC Roun...

Re: Collectable minifigures slowly coming to USA

They originally were $1.99(US) at TRU, but it seems as though they're increasing it to $2.49 across the board. Incidentally, that was the price they came up at in the system at the TRU in Times Sq. NYC, although that store said they wouldn't be getting any in. Also, there's rumors that TRU is going ...

If you're already buying something else, it's very easy to see throwing a couple of the CMF's in the basket before checkout. That said, I wouldn't order solely minifigures.

I'm tempted to pick up both the Build-A's for my daughter. She's a big fan of the movies and LEGO. Walmart continues to have them on sale for $19 - every time I'm in there to see if they've put anything on clearance, I feel the urge to splurge.

Re: North America LEGO S@H - Summer 2010 sets added!

Yeah, I think while 5 at a time might be a bit harsh (it should at least be 16!) it will police the scalpers a bit. Additionally, the guy who said he bought 6 cases is dubious at best, as he said after opening 350 pouches he only got two cheerleaders. :? The case assortment seems a lot more evenly p...

Re: Win a FREE LEGO Ninja Collectable Minifigure!

I was mainly kidding about the 'quantifying quality' thing - that's an ages-old conundrum, though one of the pinnacle works on the matter is 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance'. ;)

Also, we're discussing series 2 here.

Re: Will there be more prince of persia sets coming?

There are a lot of unique pieces and figures in these sets, so the aftermarket could become relatively heated for these. The metallic and pearl gold colored pieces are relatively unique to these sets and some other themes (the new Kingdoms sets will use that color as well).

How do you quantify 'quality' posts? Is there a word-length threshold before which your post is not considered? If I am skilled in transmitting my thoughts with brevity, am I not eligible?

Apparently they minifigures are going to be rare in North America which sucks for me...Oh well. I'm sure I can find them online somewhere. Does anyone know if Slave 1 is available from anywhere? Most likely after the fervor has died down they'll be more widely available. They've just been out at mo...

Re: New collector minifigs at LSAH question

I think LEGO officially considers a full figure w/accessories to be one 'piece', as opposed to counting a torso as one piece, legs as another, head as another, etc... I mean, you can take the legs off the hips and the arms off the torso and the hands off the arms - where do you stop counting? It als...
