MOC Spaceship - Blue Lightning

Post by brickster90 » Wed May 11, 2011 10:26 am

Seeing all of those awesome retro-looking fighters (I think it was by Jon Hall someone) really inspired me, so I worked on this ship, made from spare Buzz's Spaceship pieces only (except the pilot).

How I imagined it would fly, with the wings down like so. Please excuse lack of background.

I liked how putting the 2x4 sideways makes it really look like a cockpit's chair.

...and the old school pilot.

The bottom would have been nicer if it was streamlined some more, but like I said, brick selection was limited. I'm sure it will look nicer if I return to this model once my brick collection grows.

And there you go. My first MOC in quite a while. Any comments, critiques, or sarcastic remarks are welcome!

Looks pretty good.

Only thing I suggest is...

Give it a name.
Just Spaceship doesn't cut it.

True. I think I'll pick... Blue Lightning.

Nice. Shouldn't Buzz be the pilot?

Buzz didn't fit as well.

Also, I kind of wanted it to be like JohnHall18's work (which didn't happen, as it morphed into a spaceship over time), so I started by including the S3 minifigure because he looked like an old school pitlo.

Maybe the pilot's name is Buzz.

Nice model by the way-very vibrant.

Nice colour scheme. Reminds me of the Bavarian flag. Definately much better ship than Plo Koon's Starfighter.

I got the set today, I'll have to try and build some sort of version of this.
