[USA] Minifig Display Cases now at TRU

Post by mah4546 » Sat Sep 17, 2011 2:09 pm

The new Minifig display cases are now available at TRU. They are $14.99 for eight compartments and $22.99 for sixteen compartments. Both come with one mini fig and the larger display case come with stands. They are also wall mountable. Colors are yellow, blue, red and black. I picked on up and love it. Great quality product. I'm hoping LEGO Store gets them soon, so I can use my Disneyland discount and VIP card. I'm also betting they will be a little cheaper there.

They look like is:

Saw those too. I was tempted but didn't grab one - am holding out for the Heroica storage case thing but couldn't find any in-store today.

edit: the free minifig reminds me of the one in the Creator cabin - plain with no printing on the torso or legs.

Oooh I like these! I wonder if the prices mentioned are true MSRP or marked up for TRU already?

I hope the LEGO store gets them soon so I can buy them in October and get the free Apple set or Holiday set. We really need a way to store the CMF that is better than a pencil box.

That's a good question. I haven't seen them anywhere else yet to compare but the prices were the same at my local TRU.

If you look at the bottom of the picture, it clearly states "Lego Minifigure not inluded with the Minifigure Display Case." :-)

I asked because in the first post, 'mah4546' states that they do come with one minifigure. And I think the quote is telling you that the case does not come with the Ninjago figures or the Series 4 ones.

Correct. That's just a disclaimer for the promo image that shows the case fully populated. The retail product comes with ONE plain minifigure.

Anyone know if these would work in the current B2G1 promo?

I wish they would come in black or white as well.

It did not work with the BOGO promo this week, so probably not.

These are pretty awesome! I like the fact that they come in different colors, and are wall mountable.

What minifigure would it be? What constitutes a "plain" minifigure?

I should have taken a picture but yeah it's just an ordinary plain old male minifigure. I think he has a hat.

edit: look closely at the photos in this thread and you can see the fig. I was wrong about the hat.

I bought 2 large display cases, 1 black, 1 red and 1 small blue one. The TRU near me only had 2 large ones in stock. I also scored on the bogofree deal. They had the Spongebob Glove world set labeled for $19.99 but in typical TRU fashion, they were scanning at $24.99. They gave it to us for $19.99. I got 2 of those plus another $19.99 set free. Works out to be $13.33 per set.

Does anyone think that these are going to pop up on amazon.com, or is it a TRU exclusive?

TRU.com now has the small yellow case listed.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!
