yep
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?
Re: [USA] Shop@Home New Sales and Deals
One might wonder why this is only for the US - the price for Race 3000 in the Canadian S@H is $21.59 and $39.99 for Champion... LEGO prices usually don't make sense but this is just out of place...
Time to get items shipped to US relatives I suppose...

Re: [USA] Shop@Home New Sales and Deals
Hey guys. I wanted to report that the price of both Lego magnet sets LEGO® Star Wars™ Magnet Set: Anakin Skywalker, Thi-Sen and Clone Pilot and LEGO® City Burglars Magnet Sets have been reduced to $3.48. The VIP value for each is 3 points. To see the Shop@Home Sales & Deals, click here: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Sales-And-Deals
PLEASE NOTE:
1. The LEGO® City Burglars Magnet Set WILL BE GLUED! There is NO non-glued version of this set.
2. The LEGO® Star Wars™ Magnet Set: Anakin Skywalker, Thi-Sen and Clone Pilot HAS A GLUED AND NON-GLUED VERSION. You may find either at retail.
3. How do you tell if the set is glued or not? Well, you have to look on the back of the packaging to see if it reads "LEGO® elements are glued together." Click on the link below to see what I mean.

To see a full list of the sets that are glued and non-glued go here: http://thebrickblogger.com/2011/06/glue ... o-magnets/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
4. Is it worth it to buy glued magnets? For me the answer used to be no. But I would now say yes after reading this: http://thebrickblogger.com/2011/01/lego ... t-removal/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I hoped that I helped everyone with this post, and good luck finding the on-sale magnet sets.

Re: [USA] Shop@Home New Sales and Deals
Why do they bother to glue the City Burglars? It's not a licensed theme and those characters are unique to LEGO. Was Hasbro forcing them to glue ALL magnets, even if they don't also manufacture the characters (i.e Star Wars)?
Re: [USA] Shop@Home New Sales and Deals
My guess is that it's quicker and cheaper for LEGO to make all of the magnet sets glued in their factory, since it would cost more for there to be a special section put aside for the City sets in the factory, opossed to there being one machine that is for all of the magnet sets. Pretty annoying, but probably true.atmail35 wrote:Why do they bother to glue the City Burglars? It's not a licensed theme and those characters are unique to LEGO. LEGO glues all the magnet sets so all the magnet sets are the same. It's really just George Lucus fault for the gluing of the minifigures anyways.

I know some people don't care for the directions he takes some things and makes them bad, but in all fairness he is the creator behind a lot of good things.Brick & Blue wrote:LEGO glues all the magnet sets so all the magnet sets are the same. Re: [USA] Shop@Home New Sales and Deals
Hasbro(or is it another toy company?) has the rights to make Star Wars action figures. They signed a deal with Lucas giving them exclusive rights to sell Star Wars action figures. They argued that the Star Wars magnet sets were a violation of that agreement because you could argue that people were just buying them so they could play with the mini figures, making them defacto action figures. So, LEGO had to start gluing the Star Wars magnet sets, and then all magnet sets. So, its not really Lucas's fault, its his contract with Hasbro.
