[Canada] Lego sales at Winners

Post by shaozhi » Mon Nov 14, 2011 5:33 pm

I was at Winners today and noticed that they were having a toy sale:

Lego Star Wars Snow Trooper Battle Pack (8084) – CDN$9.99 (reg. CDN$14.99)
Lego Star Wars Plo Koon’s Jedi Starfighter (8093) – CDN$24.99 (reg. CDN$34.99)
Lego City Police Dog Unit 7285 – CDN$12.99 (reg. CDN$17.99)

They also had sets from the Atlantis, Hero factory and world racers series.

I was just at Winners yesterday and saw that they had a whole bunch of World Racers, Atlantis, Ben 10, Bionicle/Hero Factory and LEGO Games. I didn't see any Star Wars or LEGO City.

I went to a Winners in Toronto. I picked up a set of Lego City Police Dog unit and a set of Star Wars Snowtrooper Battle Pack. They still had a lot of Star Wars Snowtrooper Battle Pack sets left, 4 or so Star Wars Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter sets and maybe 3 City Police Dog Unit sets. Try another Winners in your area.

The Winners in Metrotown, BC has these sets. I might have forgot some. Seems like they're all new and not from returns/sets that other stores don't want.
  • Atlantis Deep Sea Raider $29.99 (reg.$39.99)
  • Hero Factory Fire Lord $19.99 (reg.$24.99)
  • Kingdoms Prison Tower Rescue $39.99 (reg.$69.99)
  • Racers Dragon Dueler $12.99 (reg.$17.99)
  • Toy Story Construct-a-Buzz $24.99 (reg.$34.99)
  • World Racers Jagged Jaws Reef $19.99 (reg.$26.99)
Best deal is Prison Tower Rescue as thats 43% off Canadian retail or 20% off US retail.

^^at Oshawa close to Walmart at Harmony Road.
I guess it is almost the same with other Winners?

I'm not sure though if I wanted to get some of these sets or save my money for the new 2012 sets..
But if they will be discounted like red stickers as Winners usually do, I might get a few sets.
Last year the Ben 10 set went as low as $3 but before that it was $7 or $5.. but on those price range it will also be rare. Usually the ones left have dents on boxes or was hidden by someone somewhere in the store.

Thanks Rich. Saw most of those sets at the Bloor/Bay location but missing the prison tower set.

Very excited finding a box of Kingdoms Prison Tower Rescue from Winners today. I was disappointed that it had been all gone when I visited the store last week. I'm guessing this may be a returning item with an excellent box condition.

There were many boxes of star wars battle packs at the store last week, and I couldn't find any of it today.

The Winners at the Heartland Shopping Centre still had many battle packs when I went on Monday. You'll get a better deal at ToysRus this Friday though (50% off). I didn't see anything from the Kingdom series at this particular store.

Can you let us know which one in Toronto?

for those searching for battlepacks, about 40 of them are available at the winners on the south side of Eglinton/Laird in East York (Toronto). Also had a few toy story woody train sets, robo champ, hero factory, atlantis. Walked away buying nothing as I don't think $10 per battlepack is good enough, it has to down to $7-8!

^I got this set (Kings Carriage) from BN when the 30%-off coupon was still active. Total comes to around $36US. Still pricey at that $35 eh but if there's an abundance of that set on that particular branch and is located in a not so busy city then I might wait til it goes on sale. Otherwise if you think it will be gone soon then buy it now then watch out if price will go down with in the 14 day (is that right?) window for return.

Good time to buy Lego at Winners is usually after Christmas (between Christmas and New Years) - if you're not in the market for a specific set then that's what I would save my money for.

The Winners in the Vaughan Mills mall had plenty of Atlantis sets and Lego Racer sets to go around - they were scattered over isles and isles of mixed toys - except a few they were all in excellent condition!

Right now most are at 20-40% off, so will we see them at 50-80% after christmas?

Winner - Kingdom 7188

Post by shaozhi » Fri Dec 23, 2011 12:23 pm

Winner has a bunch of Kingdom 7188 at $34.99. Is this a good price?

Works out to be 30% off, so I'd say it's a pretty decent discount. I've had my eye on this set at Winner's for a while now too. I think what also makes it a pretty good price is that other than the King's Castle and the upcoming Kingdoms Joust, it's the only set that has the King minifig (I could be wrong, but either way, it would be the cheapest set that has the King!)
