Lord of the Rings sets now avail. for preorder Target

The new Lord of the Rings sets are available on Target's website for preorder. Enter Lego Tolkein in the search window on their site. The realease/ship date is June 1st. The nicest price one is Shelob attacks at $19.99 for 227 pieces and comes with Froddo, Gollum, and Sam plus the ring!

If past patterns continue, TRU will have these a week or two early at regular price before adding 10%-20% to the price. I plan on getting them all, so I need to pace myself!

Is there any point in preordering them? I know in the past BnN had a 10% discount on some sets that you preordered but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

It appears they've taken the sets off of the Target website. I used to be able to see them, but now it says item not available. I wonder what that means for the sets I already preordered?

I think they did. Not sure if that means they are finished with preordering. They could have just listed it as out of stock.

I think it was like Toys R Us, they just put them up early, but weren't really ready to take pre-orders for them, they were just preparing the site for when they are released. Hopefully we will see them available within the next few days...

All the sets, including Orc Forge, are back online at Target's website. Expected ship date is May 16... yippee!

Anyone have Target coupons? There used to be $5 off $50 and $7 off $70. Can't find those now. Also the AAA discount ($10 off $100) appears to be broken.

Looks like the Helm's Deep set, and the Attack on Weathertop set are both on backorder now and expected to ship in 2-4 weeks. That was quick!

Sweet! Glad I don't have to worry about tacking down that exclusive set now. So I picked up the Forge and the Mines of Moria since they were the only 2 sets in stock with the free shipping offer. I'll pay tax or shipping, but not both, so Shelob and the Urakis will have to wait. Surprised Gandalf and Helms Deep are both backorded though. The 2 extremes - cheapest and most expensive.

It's possible they will have more available soon, I'm sure they are just protecting themselves from overselling preorders.

I'm not worried. I just wanted to snag the exclusive set. I can wait out the rest. With LotR AND Monster Hunters hitting, I'm going to need to space them out anyway.

Now if we'd just find out some more info on that exclusive Zombie set (ie Lego.com or Target exclusive?) I'll be a happy camper. And if either LotR or MH end up being on Lego.com next week for the Hulk promo, it will be bliss.

I can't get any coupons to work on Target.com either. I've really regretted not getting a RED card. I should do that now so I don't miss out again.

BTW: $79.99 for Mines of Moria is much more like it! Toys R Us is trying to charge $99.99 for it. That's a 25% overcharge! Not as bad as the TRU's $16.99 Gandalf Arrives which is a 42% overcharge.

I was walking through TRU today and an employee was putting lego stock up including LoTR and the monster sets. Of course they were all 20% more expensive then they needed to be so I left them all on the shelves.
