Books-a-Million (in-store only) 9470 Shelob Attacks $12.99
Most of the 2012 sets showing up at Books-a-Million have been doing so above MSRP, so I was pretty surprised to see that not only were LOTR sets not marked up, but 9470 Shelob Attacks was only $12.99 - 35% off!
Combine with one of their regular $5 off $25 coupons, and pick up two for $20.98 before tax - 47% off!
Only downside is this appears to be in-store only, and BAM!locations are few and far between...

I thought I had saw that, too, but didn't take a photo and wasn't 100% sure.prozac wrote:Uruk hai attack is only 19.99 too...at least they were at my local store.

I also seen Shelob Attacks (9470) for 12.99. It is at many (though not all) of the BAMs in the D.C. metro area. Probably worth a phone call before heading to one if you are interested in it.
One other warning/downside about BAM. Inventory can vary dramatically from store to store. BAMs located in enclosed shopping malls (other than outlet malls) tend to be much smaller than their freestanding and strip mall locations. These smaller venues may not have any Lego sets at all, or may stock just 2 or 3 copies of a few sets.
Even at the larger BAMS, I've found Lego inventory to be much more limited than what is available at Barnes & Noble or stores like Target. I've checked out 6 locations in the D.C. metro area in the last three months or so. They do stock many of the architecture sets, which is great. But otherwise, the stores I've visited usually only have a few smaller sets from 2 or 3 themes. I've never seen any of the larger sets for any theme (those over $50).

This is so odd - I could have sworn I read about Shelob being $12.99 at BaM a few weeks ago on this forum, but now I can't find the post...

You did read it on here somewhere....It was in a thread not related to BAM or Lotr lego if I recall....it may have been in the availability forum somewhere...I read it too earlier on hear Edmond ,so don't think you are TOTALLY going crazy ;)

Hah - I was 100% certain I knew this info already...I'm glad someone else remembers it (even though I did a forum search and can't find the post).

I went in to purchase a few sets today, but all of the Lord of the Rings sets had small orange price stickers over the larger white ones. The prices were in line with Target and Walmart prices. No discount for me!
