So my crazy potential schedule for Saturday is this:

9-10am LEGO Friends Club meeting at LEGO Store
10-12pm TRU Build and Take Event with Star Wars Umbarran Set- Dallas, TX and Chicago, IL only
12-2pm LEGO Friends Picture Frame at TRU
3-4pm Master Builder Academy Class at Barnes and Noble

Not sure the wife will approve but it is worth a shot...

At least two of the activities are at TRU!

We went to two stores. One of them had the picture frame bagged up and had no leaves/flowers/butterflies to decorate it with, yet their floor model had them on. When I asked I was told no they hadn't run out, they hadn't had them at all. The other store had the pick x number of each brick yourself and go build it at a different table. My kids much prefer this method I think it add to the event. They had the decorations and each child got a bag of friends butterfly/ladybug/flowers (these ones were the red set). So my kids were thrilled. This is the first time I've seen a local store have enough stock that they let the kids swap out colors of bricks if they wanted. Normally these events are so crowded they run out half way through.

We went today as well. We got there at 12:30 and there was only one other child building and maybe 2 others came by while we were there.

They were allowed to pick the pieces themselves and build at the table. The TRU associate was offering to make bags for other TRU employees as it was slow.

My daughter put a lot of flowers on it. They had the flowers and the ladybug/butterfly bags behind the table and the associate had gave her one bag and some of the other pieces and invited her to come behind the table to finish decorating it.

She enjoyed it and it was not chaotic, which was good for me.
