LEGO Legends of Chima 70113 Chi Battles

    Postby Toys N Bricks » Tue Sep 11, 2012 2:14 pm

First pictures for the upcoming 2012 LEGO Legends of Chima theme have surfaced online at eBay! The listing ended months ago but the listing has finally be spotted (thanks to Kez for writing in). The set is 70113 Chi Battles and contains 442 pieces. The back of this product also reveals another smaller set known as LEGO 70002. From the looks of it, Legends of Chima is a little similar to Ninjago but seems to have more of a "mystery" feel to it. Of course, the new creature minifigures are pretty cool too!

This looks...awful. Is Lego trying to be like Hasbro or something?

Though I am trying to figure out how 442 "pieces" could possibly fit into what looks like a small rack-hang package.

i guess this is trying to replace ninjago, i see more playing cards(sigh)... also the sphere used to dot the "I" looks like the teaser poster with the question mark ppl thought was for an arctic theme.

Is it even made of LEGO? I don't see a stud

It probably comes with 398 balls

I'll regret all this when I end up loving this theme

Yeah, there's not much to form an opinion on apart from those minifigs. They look pretty awesome! I'm hoping other minifigs in this theme will feature different animals.

The gameplay looks more complicated than Ninjago spinners :???:

Why do I get the feeling that I'll end up getting one of these?

Looks like motorcycle-ish things instead of spinners now, which is much cooler, and I like the minifigs.

So, Lion-O vs the Fantastic Mr Fox on unicycles apparently not built of legos?
    Pass.
However, if they make flexible ripcords with a stud attachment at one end in a bunch of colors, it will be nice for MOCing.

Not feeling it based on these photos. Minifigs look cool tho. If they have a decent cartoon like they did with Ninjago, these will sell with kids. I'll pick up a bunch in clearance. :)

After taking a closer look at these so-called leaks, I think someone is trolling hard.
When you look at the presumed back of the packaging where is seems to show the gameplay, it is ludicrously complex... it looks like a parody.
You launch a unicycle with a ripcord through a gate and it goes off a ramp and knocks over a platform which releases a ball and somehow cards and crystal pieces are involved too? What is this, LEGO Calvinball?
IF (big if) it's real though, they do seem to show a detail of the ripcord handle with three technic pin holes and a pretty cool shape. Suh-weet.

I can't judge an entire theme on one set but the minifigs look cool.
Though if they're as expensive as the ninjago spinner packs there's no way I'm going to buy any of these game packs until they're on clearance.

The packaging says "3 challenges in 1" not that there are three different steps to the gameplay - there are three different games to play. It's almost the same concept of their "3 in 1" instructions for Creator - you can't build all three at once, you can build one at a time.

I'll hold judgement til I see the final product. I know people weren't too happy about the Ninjago line, but that's been their best unlicensed line. Kids go nuts for Ninjago, so we shall see how this one turns out. Hopefully it will be another great line. The minifigs do look darn awesome. :)

I have enough problems keeping the pieces for Creationary off the floor. I see shooting projectiles and lots of smaller pieces. When these fall off a table they're done.

That's what I see. I also get ghost pains in my feet from the Lego I'll step on...

    Brrrr...icy shivers up back.
The minifig (what I can make of it) looks nice.

as long as the bikes are printed not stickers i think this line looks fantastic.
    the character has printed feet!!!

i love ninjago, but im glag lego is going with a super fantasy setting next.
and ninjago will be back in 4 years i bet!
i now have probably 100 ninjas for my lego ninja army. and samurais! and a ton of snake monsters to boot.
so i do not mind having ninjago take a break.

now i get to get even more RPG like monsters to add to the minifigure army!

and the bike parts can be used to create full on animals. they look like the size of the ninjago dragon heads. combine them with hero factory and i can make a sabertooth tiger now.

with this, and 'speedorz' i cant wait for the new legos!
