A store in my area says it is for those 15 and up. Finally an event for the older crowd! ;-)

Here is a link to find a store near you, http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/lego-event/379003980#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A few snippets of the description (stores seem to have different descriptions):

Some stores have AFOL's leading the workshop. The architecture set contains about 1200 pieces that are almost exclusively white with a handful of clear plates and small clear panels. Each participant can create a structure, (on a white 16x16 plate,) that will be put on display in B&N to promote the architecture set.

Indeed! A B&N in Austin got in touch with us. Oddly, I've not heard of any such contact in Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio. Seems like a rather scatter-shot approach.

Lego Architecture Studio is a variety of white lego parts of different geometries with a few clear transparent bricks and very small windows with some basic instructions on how to create a small masonry-concrete based architectural models via Lego. The relatively few clear transparent parts means Architecture Studio is not designed to model glass superstructures as easy.

I am assuming they are not providing a free 1200 piece set for attending, so is it just to mess around with some blocks while they provide information?

Yup that is what I got from it. Meh. Would like to get at least a small set.

Some of the info I've read on the wb makes it sound as if the set will only be available for purchase through B&N or the Lego store between 7/25-7/28, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Why limit its availablity to only three days?

The architecture studio set is expensive considering it's just standard white bricks with a few rare elements, the highlight should be the included booklet which shows many more potential designs that can be built.

I signed up for it at my local store a few weeks ago, before the news of the new studio set. I will report back. No matter what, I think these events are cool, as you get to see the sets and the limits before you pull the plug.

There are five stores hosting this event "near" me on Thursday and Friday. All are at least 20 miles away. My local B&N is only two miles away from me yet is not hosting this event at all. Yay.

did you call them to confirm? the store where I saw the sign, didn't come up when I searched (Hingham). I wonder if not all events are posted on-line or id the seach function is lousy. FWIW, back in June, I noticed a Lego Artchitecture event for Framingham for this Saturday, but it was in the AM and now it is gone from the website.

B&N had listed LEGO kids events for August along with Leapfrog and Klutz, I wonder what might be coming.

I had noticed this a weeks ago when browsing the events at the B/N website. I was super excited that they where doing it at one of the B/N near my house (Millbury, Ma). However, I just went on the site to check it and now it's marked "cancelled". All the other stores are still doing it. None close to me, though

Sign up is highly advised because there are only 25 spots per store, and its not open to anyone under 15. Not all Barnes & Noble stores will host the event, only those which have been deemed to be in the targeted demographic markets. There are no LEGO products given to attendees, just a chance to play and potentially meet other AFOL's.

Ask your store, I called. And one said to sign up and another said there was not a list and you could just attend. I think it is YMMV.

for my store, I signed up about three weeks ago. received an e-mail confirming since they had a waiting list of 20. They may cram in more, but you should sign up, so as not to be disappointed.

The parts. I'm sorry while I appreciate a parts pack in a useful color, this isn't worth $150. It is worth $100.00 IMNSHO. If it goes on sale for $100.00, I will buy.

1200pcs for $150. Even if the availability for this set were limited, I would still have to pass.

Let us know when it drops to $20 on black friday.lol
