LEGO Star Wars Super Star Destroyer on sale for €290,70

Post by Toys N Bricks » Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:12 pm

Amazon France currently has the online exclusive 10221 LEGO Star Wars Super Star Destroyer on sale for €290,70 (£234.69). Even if you are from the UK, this is a pretty good deal as the set retails for £349.99 so thats 33% off! As always, prices include VAT already. More of their hottest LEGO deals can be found here.

International shipping for those living outside of Europe is also available (with 16.4% tax discount as well). However, if you are from the United States, you would probably be better of ordering from Amazon.com as its on sale for $319.97 (reg.$399.99).

Price for a Super Star Destroyer Set

Canada: €243,06 + €42,84 = €285,90
Outside of Europe: €243,06 + €60,27 = €303,33

Quick question for Canadians buying from Amazon France...Do they charge an 'Import Fee' or do you end up getting hit with a custom fee to pay when the package gets delivered?

my experience so far: cargo train - no fees/taxes, tower bridge - fees/taxes were added
DHL was carrier for cargo train, UPS was carrier for tower bridge

based on the above and Kokot experience as well as all the experiences contained in the european thread on amazon.fr, chances are you will be hit with some fees/taxes on the SSD.

The price comes out close to $400 cdn and the fees/taxes are the deal breaker. once you pay the fees/taxes, its slightly more than buying US retail

DHL is carrier for SSD so I'm hoping there wont be any extra fees.

Hey thanks for the info guys!

Thinking of getting the Pet Shop (10218) from amazon.fr and total would be 129 euros shipping included. And according to the website, it also includes "TVA" which is some kind of tax I think. And that's only thing holding me back. Is "TVA" the import fee? Hmm.

no, TVA is not import fee. TVA = VAT = value added tax. For europeans only.
petshop comes out to $180cdn without fees and import taxes. lego.com had petshop at $180 during black friday weekend so if you get hit with taxes on this import its going to end up costing more than buying it in canada....that's too close a call...SSD is discounted enough that even if you get hit with taxes you end up still getting a decent deal matching closely to the TRU BOGO 40% sale.
