Amazon Europe (UK) now has the new 31313 LEGO Mindstorms EV3 set on sale for £249.97 (reg.£299.99) or about €296 Euros. Savings work out to be 17% off. Free delivery with no minimum purchase for the United Kingdom and free delivery with orders above £25 for Europe. As always, prices include VAT already. XE.COM's rates are for large purchase in foreign currency. If you use a credit card to purchase an item in another currency, you can be assured that you will pay at least 3% higher than those rates plus a c/card fee, so the savings will be less than the 10% you mention. Also if UPS is the shipper, you will have to pay their exorbitant brokerage fees unless that is included in the fees you pay up front. This will likely end up making the foreign purchase much more costly than regular price here.

from past purchases, the fee has been $10 then hst on total (including the $10) for amazon.uk shipments, so updated calculations below
say conservative exchange is 1.7, then total is $421, so still cheaper than cdn msrp (or 7% off) but even more reason to stay away from amazon.uk for now. The UK sale price has to be 25% off to make it worthwhile.
