Toys R Us Closing Sale

Post by jeffrey » Sat Mar 24, 2018 5:54 am

I saw my first Toys R Us closing discounts yesterday. I drove by it on Thursday (3/22) and did see any changes, but on Friday (3/23) afternoon they had put up a big store closing banner.

Toys R Us in Westland, MI on Wayne road.

The starting discount on "construction toys" is 5% off.

5% or what you get if you use a target card.

I thought they were told by LEGO not to discount them at all?

In conclusion we just don't like them, because they are not letting stores give good deals

Like or not is not relevant. If you have to deal with picked over inventory and full parking lots to get the same deal as a target Card,,,well now a double points day at the LEGO store...and that's not even accounting for the TRU tax....then big whup.

Clearance sale is up to 15% now.

And, interestingly, when I price scanned a set it said the sale ends 6/30/18. So, that could possible mean when the next discount will change.

I think TRU is lying to us. Isn't the point to go out of business to actually close at some point? The way this is going they won't be out of business until 2023... if we all survive that long.
