$10 off $10 or more? What?
$10 off $10 or more? What?
Re: ToysRUs Canada LEGO Sale - December 5-11
Pretty much it meant, it is either a typo which should read $10 off $50 or more. Or they felt bad with all the awful sales lately and want to treat us customers something for free plus tax. Or they will be marking up ALL their lego sets say by $10 from December 28 to January 31st.massakassa wrote:FREE $10 Savings Card when you spend $50 or more on LEGO building sets (savings card can be redeemed on LEGO building sets of $10 or more from December 28,2014 to January 31st, 2015)

If you spend $50 you get a gift card for $10 that must be used on LEGO. Nothing about that hints at free.

this sounds like a bad deal.
You have to buy $50 worth of lego (which may or may not be on sale)
so then you get $10 off your NEXT purchase.
which means you have to spend gas money to go back to the store. So even on a best case scenario:
buy today: $50
buy 'tomorrow': $10
total spent $60. Subtract $10 off == 17% maximum additional discount.
only worth it if you are planning to buy a set anyways
AND plan on going back post boxing day.

Well, it seems I won't buy from TRU unless they have exclusives from now on.

Apologies with the confusion. If you spend $50 or more on LEGO this week, you get a free $10 Savings Card. You cannot use the savings card right away. The Savings Card can be redeemed when you spend $10 or more on LEGO building sets from December 28-January 31st, 2014.
Basically, you have to spend a minimum of $60 on LEGO and you get $10 off in the very end (making 2 purchases; one this week and one between December 28 to January 31st, 2014). Most people aren't going to spend exactly $60 ($50 + $10) so your savings are potentially even less than that. Its just a marketing tactic that they like to use instead of offering a straight up $10 off deal.

TRU at Cedarbrae Mall had 3 Exo Suits on the shelf at msrp, could be a good deal if combined with one of the gift cards they have been giving out lately to bring the price down a bit.
