Re: Best way to sell a collection?

There is a fellow on bricklink (JonP ?), that had a mantra of "only buy, never sell" for a long time. Then one day, his personal situation changed (IIRC, a relative was moving in, and he was worried the collection and the new resident were incompatible). So he decided to unload it all. It ...

Re: Best way to sell a collection?

The answer may depend on your time frame. Do you need funds right now? or are you planning for a big purchase in the fall/winter? Now is not a great time of year to be selling LEGO. Most people are focused on outside activities this time of the year, and LEGO tends to be in less demand. If you can w...

Re: Lego Education US online shopping changes

Wow. You're right, the education shop has dramatically changed. Brick-n-Pieces may be the only other route to get new Technic parts direct from lego. They tend to be more expensive than bricklink, though. Lately, I've been focusing on buying bulk used lots with lots of technic in them and picking up...

The answers to your questions can be found on bricklink, brickowl, and peeron. For example, on bricklink, you can browse to the set, and list the inventory: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?S=60042-1#T=I The roof element is listed as part 98281 http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages...

Re: [USA] ToysRUs Online Extra $5 off $30 on LEGO Constructi

Here is a bricklink page for a Friends co-pack:
http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/ ... ?S=66478-1
Friends Super Pack 3 in 1 (41026, 41027, 41029)

Notably, it does not include the sunshine ranch.

Who knows what TRU will actually ship.

and, there is no picture with only 41039 Sunshine Ranch shown. My guess is that the pic for the lemonade stand was supposed to be the Ranch, instead.

That said, it's still a pretty good deal. The three sets that are (most likely) included are all retired. With the $5 discount its 25% off of MSRP

Re: [USA] Target Stores LEGO Easter Polybag Clearance - 50%

Thanks, SpaceViking. I know it's hit or miss, but like I said, I'm trying to build up my supply for my son's birthday party either this year or next year, for party favors. I have missed out on them with Valentine's Day, etc, but was hoping the Easter bunch would be easier to find. I had four in my...

Re: [USA] Target Stores LEGO Easter Polybag Clearance - 50%

I know dcpi is shared but I wondered if you find target tracker reliable? Thx Actually, I've lost some confidence in the tracker(s) in the past year. I've had a few cases where brickseek will say they some of an item in stock, but then the target app will say 'not available'. I've found the brickse...

Re: [USA] Target Stores LEGO Easter Polybag Clearance - 50%

I hear you, jmeninno. I have had the same experience... hunting for poly bags during the holiday sale and finding none, but then finding a few after the sale is over. The problem is that Target re-uses the DCPI numbers. After the holiday sale ends, the items are supposed to be 'salvaged'---sold off ...

early this morning, items were on the 'sales and deals' page, but they are not showing up there now. The sale is still active, if you click on certain items. for example, Architecture Studio is on sale for $128 and BBT is $48, but they dont show up on the 'sales and deals' page. Some sale prices don...

Re: Best place to sell older lego sets?

If you were to sell it as a bulk lot, you could probably get about $190 ($5/lb) for it without any sorting. As StClair mentioned, if you pick out the minifigs and highlight them in the offering, that could raise the asking price a fair amount if the figs are rare or sought after. There is a buy/sell...

Great review, Vynsane. Thanks for posting it. I'm quite impressed by all the small details throughout the set. Those don't come through very well on the press release photos, and you did a nice job of highlighting them. This set wasn't on my 'want list' for anytime soon, but maybe I should rearrange...

Thanks!

Re: Used Taj spotted at shop goodwill

Overall, I've had a good experience there, but it is definitely a roll-of-the-dice situation. If you keep expectations low, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. My worst catch was a used lot that had a ninjago set that was on my son's wish list. The bricks were so dirty and such a mess (chewed o...
