Thanks for the update, Ice. I placed an order for most of the pirate line (already have Brickbeard's Bounty so I skipped the Brick Bounty; even the names are similar).
All I need now is a Jurassic World sale.

Re: Stolen/missing minifigures from online order? (Toys R Us
I've busy recently so replying slipped my mind but I ended up returning the set via post (TRU sent a label). Apparently the missing packing slip was not a problem. I guess the lesson here is to always double check your sets as soon as you get them, although I'm sure buying direct from Lego S@H is sa...

Stolen/missing minifigures from online order? (Toys R Us Can
Hello all, Last week I placed an order for Spider-Man: Daily Bugle Showdown (76005) at the Toys R Us Canada website during the sale last week ( link to thread ), which finally arrived today. The first thing that struck me was that the shipping label wasn't stuck on properly, but I didn't think much ...

Re: LEGO City Toy Fair Report
I was really looking forward to 60080 Space Port because I missed the 10213 Shuttle Adventure, but $120 (which will likely be $150 Canadian) is way too expensive. I can understand how larger molds might drive up the price, but that price just feels obscene. Now I doubly regret missing out on 10213. ...

Site's down now, but I managed to get a single order in for that Jor-El minifigure.
Only paid $1.12 thanks to VIP points, but it's too bad there weren't any good deals. Even the freebie holiday set isn't all that great.

The Lego Star Wars AT-TE (75019) is also on sale ($70 < $120). Just over 40% off.

Re: Target Canada Clearance
Picked up Colby City Showdown, Silver Mine Shootout and Constitution Train Chase. Not particularly fond of the movie, but I'm a big fan of the sets. I'm happy that Target clears their clearance by slashing the price in half, as opposed to Toys R Us Canada's 'take $10 off and let it languish on the s...

It took them long enough.
Hopefully the two new major competitors (Target and Amazon.ca) will make the upcoming holiday season a good one for Canadians.

Re: Minecraft @ S@H - in stock.
I don't really understand the appeal of this set (and I've played Minecraft for a while). Apart from the the printed Steve/Creeper, there really isn't anything for me that could justify the price tag. I guess most of these are going to the truly hardcore Minecraft fans? Anyways, if you want it, this...

Re: [CAN] Toys R Us Boxing Week 2012, Dec 26-31
Boo! I was hoping for another 50% off a theme like previous years. Pictured on the flyer is 7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator ($89.99 > $53.97) and 9495 Gold Leader's Y-wing Starfighter (Above MSRP at $69.99 > $41.97). I already have the Sith Infiltrator, and I'm not so keen on the Y-Wing (I do lik...

Re: [Canada] Zellers 40% off ALL LEGO - This Week's Sale
The 30% off from a couple of weeks ago was pretty good, but I didn't really see anything that I wanted then; mostly stuff in the 'meh' category. With 40% off and (hopefully) a decent coupon, I could see myself pulling the trigger on some of them. Would be killer if they had some of the newer stuff, ...

Re: Lego Shop@home Ripping off Canadians
Canada is a highly regulated country extremely high operating costs, like most of Western Europe, while the United States is the complete opposite. It enjoys significantly more consumer freedom, less taxes, less regulation, cheap energy and more competition. That makes consumer goods cheap. If you ...

Re: [US/CA] LEGO Promotions for September 2012
CDN has VAT built right in, USD does not, sales tax has to be added to that $179 figure. Nope, prices in Canada almost never include taxes (fuel is the only exception I can think of right now). In Ontario, the Haunted House would cost $199.99 + 13% tax for a total of $225.99. I really hope the Haun...

Re: LEGO Monster Fighters Haunted House
I think this set is simply excellent. The exterior looks great (those zombie heads on the pillars are definitely going to swapped out to create a zombie army) and while the interior could use a bit more furnishing to be perfect, it's nothing that can't be fixed. The selection of minifigs is great as...

Re: [Contest] LEGO Superheroes Movie Maker App
I just tried the App, and even for something that is targeting children, it feels pretty bare-bones. One suggestion (in addition to what everybody else has said) is to add support for more than one piece of music per video. I do like the 'onion peel' tool, which superimposes the previously shot fram...

Bahh, just got my cancellation e-mail. It felt too good to be true, but now that it's been cancelled, I can't help but feel a little disappointed.
Might work out okay if we get a 20% off LotR sale before September, but I'm keeping my expectations in check.

Re: CDN vs USD - Is Toys r Us overpriced in the US?
Thanks for the input.. So Amazon France doesn't have huge shipping charges? I didn't know B&N shipped to Canada. What about their shipping - wouldn't those costs negate the money you save on the actual LEGO? I've bought other stuff from the US before online, only to be slammed with like a $40 c...
