Re: Wal Mart Markdowns

So that is from clearance week #30 in Aug. '13. That's not a new clearance item. It was probably forgotten about. Take it to customer service. They might be able to adjust it for you. The fact is that LEGO sells really well and stores have limited mark down budgets. It's easier to keep LEGO at a hi...

Re: Wal Mart Markdowns

While I do find the occasional good clearance at WalMart, The one closest to me often has stuff at $.03 off. Yes 3 cents, less money than it takes to buy 1 minute of parking at a meter in the city. Three cents clearance or three cents off the normal MSRP? Wal-Mart always takes a few cents off the M...

Re: Wal Mart Markdowns

This is REALLY starting to annoy me. How do people find such amazing deals when my Wal-Marts literally never have anything? I went to 3 Wal-Marts today and 2 Targets. One WM had a few items clearanced. Crater Creeper was marked down to $11, Gold Getaway down to $18 or 19 , and Wizard Battle was down...

I love how if you you spend $50 exact, you get the 15 off but no longer qualify for free shipping online.

Re: Wal Mart Markdowns

A Wal-Mart near me had a bunch of red clearance tags but almost everything was still full MSRP (or close to it, just the standard few cents off which WM always has). Even sets like Goblin King Battle were full price, as were the 30 or so Mirkwood Spider Attack sets.

Re: [USA] ToysRUs $15 off $60 LEGO Construction Set Purchase

I would love to pick up a few extra Mirkwood Elf Army sets using this promo... but Toys R Us has them marked up to $39.99. That's 10 bucks over MSRP and a RIDICULOUS 33% INCREASE in price. Even with the $15 off buying 2 the price still comes out to 65 bucks which is 5 over MSRP. God I hate TRU...

Re: USA Toys R Us LEGO Sale - 38% off TMNT Baxter Robot Ramp

I found a 15% off regular priced purchase coupon. You can't use it on the sale items but it'll help on a polybag or something. My local store manager let me apply this to the 50% off deals, and also get a Christmas tree PER $20 spent, enabling me to pick up $250 (MSRP) worth of LEGOs for $120, afte...

Re: LEGO Hobbit 2014 January Sets Now Available (USA)

So TRU now has them all online and they seem to be ready to ship. You can use the 15% off coupon, as well as the wish list feature to get $10 back for future orders (though it takes a few weeks to receive that coupon I guess). Do you guys think it would be worth it to buy them now, or wait until Cyb...

Not sure why TRU would be price matching when it specifically states they will not price match:

"Clearance, closeout, damaged product, used, refurbished, open packages or liquidation sales"

I don't sticker anything. Sure the sets look a little nicer with the stickers but meh, I would rather have the pieces have more appeal.

Re: Kmart Additional 50% off clearance toys 10/20 - 10/26

Does anyone else find themselves driving all around town for these kind of deals? It's fun for a while, but when you strike out, it gets frustrating. Especially when the store is clear across town. Ya I gave up a long time ago. I would constantly hear of 50%+ clearance deals at Target, Wal-Mart, K-...

Eh, it might be an ok venture if he were actually charging reasonable prices, but they are so out of whack it's not even funny. He is charging almost as much to build the smaller sets as they actually cost...

Re: No Discounts Policy on LEGO Exclusives & Hard to Find It

I would think they would discount more of their sets. Back in 2008 or 2009, I remember the end of the year clearance at 50% off. you just don't see that anymore. What's up Lego? Probably because smart shoppers just waited until the sets got discounted before buying them if they knew it was coming e...

Re: Hilarious Craigslist post...

The Lego builder for hire is just stupid. Half of the fun of Lego is building the sets, even for (most) kids. The prices they are charging are also ridiculous. $5 to build a 100 piece set that probably cost only $10-13? $10 for a 200 piece set? $15 for a 200-500 piece one? so a $20 set with 220 piec...

Re: Amazon Super Saver threshold now $35

I knew Amazon would up the free shipping price sooner or later. I am just glad it was only by $10. Most places require at least $50 for free shipping, with some places (like Lego) requiring as much as $75, $100, or more. I can usually hit $35 pretty easily.

Meh, the closest Fry's to me is almost 20 miles away and its showing next to nothing in stock. I hate how my local stores never have any sort of decent clearances like this :(

I am going to just order the sets I want now during the double VIP to ensure I get SOME discount. I will keep the receipt in case Lego does any Black Friday deals.

Re: No Discounts Policy on LEGO Exclusives & Hard to Find It

I don't really understand why everyone is saying they're now more likely to buy from other retailers now. All things being equal (literally) across the board, I'm more apt to buy directly from LEGO. This policy is enacted on all Exclusive/HTF products at all retailers, not just LBR/S@H. Yes, it rea...
