Re: CDN vs USD - Is Toys r Us overpriced in the US?

Well, to give you an idea how bad Toys R Us is here in the US, here are the current LotR set prices at TRU: 9469 Gandalf Arrives: $16.99 (MSRP: $12.99) 9470 Shelob Attacks: $24.99 (MSRP: $19.99) 9471 Urak-Hai Army: $34.99 (MSRP: $29.99) 9473 The Mines of Moria: $99.99 (MSRP: $79.99) As you can see, ...

Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU

They have the 4 sets available and shipping out now that were originally listed in this thread, but no Helm's Deep or Attack on Weathertop strangely enough. They also don't have The Orc Forge, but I am pretty sure that's because it is a Target exclusive. Not that it's a big deal imo. The Gandalf Arr...

Re: Lord of the Rings sets now avail. for preorder Target

I think it was like Toys R Us, they just put them up early, but weren't really ready to take pre-orders for them, they were just preparing the site for when they are released. Hopefully we will see them available within the next few days...

Re: LOTR sets

As much as I would love to get them a little early, I don't think I can justify paying 5-20 bucks more per set. I mean if I bought all 4 from TRU right now that would end up costing me 178 bucks not including taxes. That's almost a 40 dollar difference, or the price of a whole nother LotR Lego set (...

Re: LotR Sets I Would Like to See!

I can almost guarantee the winter/ wave 2 sets will be based on the forthcoming Hobbit movie Most likely. Who knows though, maybe they will include a few older LotR themed sets though. I find it really odd they didn't include any of the main evils (Saruman, Sauron) in the first wave. I am thinking ...

Re: LotR Sets I Would Like to See!

That's what they could call the set, The Fellowship of the Ring. It would be kind of like the Death Star set is to the Star Wars brand. They could add lots of minifigs to the set to make Elrond's Council of Middle Earth. That's actually exactly what I had in mind. By wave 4 I am sure some of the ea...

Re: LotR Sets I Would Like to See!

I actually did forget Rivendell. Mostly because no major battles happen there, at least not in the LotR films which Lego seems to be basing most their sets off to begin with. Granted I included some other sets that aren't really big combat scenes like the Shire, but I added those mostly so there wer...

Re: When a license ends...

This is what disappoints me leading up to the release of LoTR. It also has a trilogy, a fourth film to be released. Has already bumped off the core lego theme of castle. Pattern? 7,8?,9? sets and bubble away like PoTC when the movie comes and goes? The thing is though, most those other licenses you...

Re: LotR Sets YOU Would Like to See!

Wave 4 Watcher In the Water MSRP: $49.99 MiniFigures: Frodo, Samwise, Pippin, Merry, Aragorn This set would be a small wall with the entrance into the Mines of Moria, and a formation of water outside where the Kraken attacks the Fellowship. the Kraken could be a soldi plastic figure, or more likely...

Re: LotR Sets YOU Would Like to See!

Wave 3 Battle Overhead MSRP: $19.99 MiniFigures: Nazgul, Fell Beast, Great Eagle, Gandalf the White(?) This set could also be treated as sort of an army builder if it didn't include Gandalf the White. It could have a Nazgul on Fell Beast, a Great Eagle, and could include a small piece of Minas Tiri...

LotR Sets I Would Like to See!

So far the Lord of the Rings line up looks AMAZING! I haven't bought a Lego set in years, but after learning about the new LotR sets coming out I am super excited to get my hands on all of them! Of course after seeing the initial sets coming out I immediately thought of all the future possibilities ...

Re: Which LOTR set should I buy first?

I dunno, there seems to be pretty mixed reactions for almost all the LotR sets. The Uruk-Hai Army one being the only exception. I think that's the one that everyone pretty much unanimously loves. From what I have seen and heard the Weathertop set seems to have pretty mixed views. Some people think i...

Re: Which LOTR set should I buy first?

Ya, I love that about the Uruk-Hai Army set as well. Not only do you build up your Uruk-Hai army with each additional set you buy, you also can build up your Helm's Deep fortress! My only complaint is the set comes with Eomer. I'm not a big fan of a named character coming in an "army builder&qu...

Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU

5 dollars more than the MSRP on all the sets other than Mines of Moria. Not too bad with the 10 dollars off, but MoM is a whopping 20 more. WoW, I will wait for other places to get them in, thanks...

Re: Which LOTR set should I buy first?

Those two are probably my top picks as well, Helm's Deep and Mines of Moria. I think Mines of Moria edges out Helm's Deep though. With MoM you get so many more figures not available in any other sets right now. You get Legolas, Boromir, Pippin, 2 Moria Orcs (Goblins)... and of course the awesome Cav...

Re: 2012 LEGO Lord of the Rings

Looks like it went from 5 minifigs down to 4. Ya, I am surprised no one else really has said much about this. That's a big disappointment to me, and even more so because they look to of cut the coolest looking Mordor Orc (the one with the ears)! Looks like it's now just the bald Mordor Orc, the one...
