Re: LotR in Target??

My location has them on the back of an endcap along with the new Monster ones. Same here, couple LotR and Moster sets on the end cap and that's it. They don't seem to have any of the bigger sets like Helm's Deep or Mines or Moria, or at least haven't put them out yet. I find it weird because the Le...

Re: Target - Summer Clearance

Anyone notice any of the Dino sets on clearance yet? I was at my local Target yesterday and saw a clearance tag near 2 of the Batman sets (one was the Funhouse I believe), but that was it. I will have to go back and check it out more closely.

Re: Barnes and Noble - LOTR with 15% off

All the other sets I ordered from B &N came in fantastic condition so I found it a little weird the Helm's Deep was the exact opposite. Like I said, it looked like someone might of bought it, took something, out and returned it. The actual shipping box I got was fine but the Helm's Deep box was ...

Re: Barnes and Noble - LOTR with 15% off

I got a kids club coupon to work a few weeks ago on a Helm's Deep set after spending almost an hour on the phone with B&N employees. First I was talking to some guy who spoke very poor English and kept entering my info wrong. At first the coupon wasn't working but after about 15 minutes of going...

Re: New Round of Harry Potter?

I wasn't around when gone with the wind was released, but I'm guessing the lack of TV might have given it a boost. Though there aren't any other older films on there so maybe not. Who knows, if nothing else I am sure it helped. Something to keep in mind is back then there were roughly only 2.3 bill...

Re: [Canada] ToysRUs 20% off LEGO City, Creator, Basics

Hehe, I actually meant they probably only get 1-2 orders total (an exaggeration obviously). I just don't see why anyone would buy from TRU with their ridiculous mark ups when there so many better options out there. Lets see, order from TRU and pay 20-30% ABOVE MSRP OR Order from the Lego store, save...

Re: [Canada] ToysRUs 20% off LEGO City, Creator, Basics

now that bn.com has the set for 10% plus the 20% off coupon, the set comes out to $105 compared to $90 from the tru deal if you are succesful in haggling. I rather stick with the bn.com deal and have a peace of mind without hassling with the CSR at tru for $15! I would order from B&N anyways ju...

Re: New Catalogue

I don't know if it was mentioned but has anybody noticed the bundled package they have on sale in the catalog? All three planet sets fo $24.99 They have some of these in their online store too. You can get all 7 LotR sets for 352 which is like 20 bucks off MSRP. They were also running a deal where ...

Re: When will Toys R Us start selling the LOTR sets?

Yup, 33% still terrible and makes me never want to shop at TRU again, but not AS bad as a 60% mark up, lol!

Re: Barnes and Noble - LOTR with 15% off

I bought doubles of all three sets they have available. I probably will just return the order I made to Target since it will save me almost 160 bucks which I can reinvest in more LotR Legos! :)

Re: Lord of the Rings 9469 Gandalf Review

Just for the record, I actually LOVE the rest of the LotR sets. I bought multiples of every set and think the price is fantastic on most of them. My only problem was with this set, and to a much lesser extent the Attack on Weathertop set. But, for the rest of the sets to be right around 10 cents per...

Re: Lord of the Rings 9469 Gandalf Review

IMO The new articulated horse, makes it worth more than the MF Mummy set, since there are so many more uses for him than there are for a skeleton horse. Also comparing sets to other themes sets is silly, since the pricing structure is so complex. :geek: Oh I get that, and The Mummy set was kinda hi...

Re: Lord of the Rings 9469 Gandalf Review

You seem overly concerned about the price point. You're always going to pay an extra buck or two for a licensed set. If you want to write reviews for Lego products then you should know that by now and just get over it. Regarding the set: While I think it lacks some playability and the Gandalf figur...

Is that right, or was it a typo? Mines of Moria is marked up the same 20 dollars more than MSRP and only 25% more. I knew most of the sets were around 20-30% marked up over MSRP, but Weathertop is 60?? :what?:

Re: Target LEGO mark-ups?

That is really odd. I ordered the entire LotR line from Target.com and got all of them for MSRP exactly. I will have to keep an eye out on my local brick and mortar Target to see if I notice anything.

Re: 2012 LEGO Lord of the Rings

Ehh, I think they look alright. The torso is definetly close to Emperor Palpatine's, but it's not exactly the same. There really isn't a ton Lego could do with them and still make them look like they appear in the films 90% of the time. I mean usually you only see them with their huge capes/robes dr...

Re: Lord of the Rings 9469 Gandalf Review

The one thing I disagree with is your assessment of the cost. I know it has been beaten to death by now but you can't compare licensed theme sets to non-licensed theme sets as far as cost for a number of reasons...I'll leave that alone. Well all the other Lord of the Ring theme sets are right aroun...
