Re: Costco.ca deals (Esp. for Train Fans)

I believe costco's whole deal is that they will buy hundreds of palettes of one specific item, and then they ship those out to their various stores. Since they're making a deal for just one item, I believe manufacturers are more receptive to giving them a better price, because it's easier to just ma...

Really depends on how well the movie does. (see: The Lone Ranger) But I'm betting it's going to be a few months until we see any JW sales.

Re: Walmart.ca Clearance

I hate the concept of people buying discounted sets at huge markdowns, then sitting on them for months (or years) until the price has increased. There's nothing necessarily wrong with it, it just doesn't sit well with me. There is a tremendous amount of vitriol on this forum towards "slimy&quo...

Re: Walmart.ca Clearance

It all depends on the CSR. Some will do it, some will not. If you come up against one that will not, just come back later and you may get one who will.

I'm 4 for 6 price matching at Walmart in the last month.

Re: Target Canada In Store Clearance

According to an article I read, target is setting up a trust that will pay the average employee for about 16 weeks once they close. Very decent of them.

Re: Walmart.ca Clearance

This may not be news to some people: If a CSM doesn't price match you, just go back another day or during another shift. Or just to a different checkout, if you're feeling adventurous. There are sometimes multiple CSM's working. I attempted to price match on the 27th and was shot down at two differe...

Re: TRU Canada - 50% off galaxy squad sept 27th - Oct 3rd

I stopped in at my local TRU to pick up my set of series 12 yesterday and they still had plenty of Galaxy squad sets on the shelf. It must have been stashed up above the shelves. I'm sorry you guys think I'm some sort of monster for buying stuff literally nobody else wants, even at 50% off. For the ...

Re: TRU Canada - 50% off galaxy squad sept 27th - Oct 3rd

they screw others over, bad karma I say. I can't buy direct from Lego, and the only other source is retail. What would you suggest? Shut down Bricklink entirely? All I am saying for dozens of the same set is that lots of the same parts will sell SLOW - variety (and pricing) is the key. Most parts s...

Re: TRU Canada - 50% off galaxy squad sept 27th - Oct 3rd

Individual pieces have no theme. There are tons of useful parts in here, regardless of overall set quality. There are very few old lots in my store that have never sold. Except Bionicle, nobody wants individual Bionicle pieces. :D

Re: TRU Canada - 50% off galaxy squad sept 27th - Oct 3rd

Hey, that's me! That was only the first batch. :) I ended up buying the majority of what was left at my local tru for $1200. The 1800 is the retail value of my first cartfull (in the picture). I will be parting it out and given past experience, I'll have no problem making it back, $10 at a time. :P ...

Re: [Giveaway] The LEGO Movie Polybags

I think my favorite set is 70806 - Castle Cavalry. I know all of the sets are vehicles in the theme of normal stuff, but a flying castle really captured my imagination, as I used to build flying castles and pirate ships when I was a kid. :)
