Also, you could do an "Iron MOCer" (like Iron Chef) where there's a "secret ingredient" part that has to be incorporated into the MOC, and aside from that, the sky's the limit. This. Making a certain piece (or pieces) mandatory should inspire some creativity, the same way the se...

$89.99 CAD for the Sith Infiltrator? I was hoping it would be around $50-$60. Well this sucks!

Re: [CAN] Walmart rollback for 3181 Passenger Plane
I finally was able to pick up the Slave 1 set at the Scarborough East Walmart location (401 & Morningside). They still had 4 sets left, and at first glance, the boxes seemed to all be in excellent shape. I noticed that the shelf sticker had it marked down to clearance for $82, but it still scann...

Re: [CAN] in store chapters clearance sales YMMV
Lots of LEGO Visual Dictionaries but all at regular price and no minifigures in the book. Much better deal ordering online when you get the minifigure plus 48% off and free shipping. Some stores actually take the minifigs out, but give them to the customer at the time purchase. And the actually put...

The idea of a clear Invisible Woman minifig, or even a red translucent Human Torch minifig would be all kinds of awesome.lukeskywalker wrote:The minifigs would be too hard to do.BrickGarurumon wrote:Fantastic 4, anyone?

Re: [CAN] Walmart rollback for 3181 Passenger Plane
My guess is that they put it at that price point to capitalize on the somewhat 'rabid' Star Wars/Boba Fett fanatics. For the same reason there are a million different Millenium Falcon sets, just on a smaller scale.

I agree. This might actually make finally pull the trigger on Slave 1. Way overpriced for sure.ricefields wrote:This set should have been $10-20 lower for the cdn retail price (exchange accounts for -$10 and price point another -$10).

Re: [REVIEW] 853195 Brick Calendar
I was on the fence about picking this up, but seeing these pics have helped convince me to decide to purchase this. The minifigs definitely add to it's value, and it'll be a breeze to customize this with a much more appealing colour scheme.
Thanks for the review!

Re: [REVIEW] 4194 Whitecap Bay
After seeing the movie, I couldn't agree more about your criticism about the lack of a plank/bridge to add more of a water/ocean feel to the set. I mean, it's called 'Whitecap BAY', and not 'Whitecap Tower' after all. But reading your descriptions and viewing the photos really show that this is a ni...

haha I agree, this is brilliant work. I think these PAB packing photos deserve a thread all on it's own. I know they've already inspired me to be more creative and resourceful the next time I visit the Lego store. Thanks guys!

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
I just came from my local Mastermind (a Canadian toys, books and games retailer) and I managed to find the CMF2 Popstar I needed to complete my set. They have a 'Buy 3 Get 1 Free' promo for Series 2, so I also managed to snag a couple of Spartans and a Pharoah for a total of $8.97. Not a monster of ...

Re: what are advantages to shopping at LEGO stores?
I wish I could use a piece of tape to help secure the pieces in the top of the lid. :) I visited the store at the Somerset Collection in Michigan once, and the associate who cashed me out was more than happy to tape down the lid of my cup! As long as your cup isn't overflowing too much, it shouldn'...

Checked the Walmart again today at Markville and they do indeed have the Queen Anne's Revenge.
sidenote: Mastermind Toys across the street from Markville also has all the POTC sets in stock.

I must be blind as a bat...when I went to Markville yesterday I didn't see Queen Anne's Revenge at Walmart but saw the rest of the POTC line. Now you're making me second-guess myself! I work in the mall so I can confirm it for you tmrw, but I'm pretty sure I saw it on the bottom shelf on the endcap...

PotC Sets Now Available in Canadian TRU Stores
Went to the local TRU close to where I work (Markham, Ontario) and found that they are now carrying PotC sets. This store in particular had the following sets in stock: 4181 Isla De Meurta 4183 the Mill 4192 Fountain of Youth 4194 Whitecap Bay 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge Nice to see PotC finally in st...

Re: New LEGO store opening near Toronto
I actually spoke to someone from Guest Services at Sherway Gardens earlier today and they told me that the Lego Store's soft opening was supposed to be this past Thursday (the 21st), but for some reason is being delayed until possibly sometime this coming week. But yes, the official grand opening is...
