Thank you, I take them apart pretty much as soon as I take pictures. This one lasted less than a day after I photographed itlegohunter wrote:Wow.. another masterpiece of medieval creation. The waterfall effect is awesome. Do you keep all your builds or you just break them down after taking photos?

Re: Fossgard Falls
@crewser: Thanks, I was quite happy with how the waterfall turned out
@Brickbuilder0937: Thanks, I've found that using all straight lines (rather than curves) helps make a castle build look more dwarven
@vynsane: Thank you!

Fossgard Falls
This was built for the "Wonders of Historica" group project in Guilds of Historica. Every room is accesible via stairs, tunnel, or bridge, and the small tower is the only one without an interior. The Fossgard Falls are some of the most famous waterfalls in Historica. The dwarves of Fossgar...

Re: Manaor Castle
I can't wait until I'm finished with graduate classes so that I'll have time to build large MOCs. Castles were my favorites growing up in the 80's and I can't wait to build my own. I bought LOTR Helmsdeep and Weathertop (sold the figures) because of the many gray pieces. I keep my eye open on ebay ...

@StClair: Thanks! I had fun designing the windows in this, glad you like the wooden section too :-) @dho7622u: Thanks, I wanted to fit a full castle on a 32x32 baseplate and it actually wasn't too difficult :-) @legohunter: Thanks, and I think it is the first one that can open up that I've posted he...

Manaor Castle
A free build for GoH. Inspired by castles built by Karrde, 2 Much Caffeine, LL, vdubguy67, and de Gothia. There used to be a lot of castles built on only a 32x32 baseplate, but I haven't seen many lately. I also haven't seen many castles with hinged walls/opening interiors and this was built with th...

Repairing Forngord Castle
This is a collaborative build between me and my younger brother. This is our largest build yet, 56x56. Inspiration for the tools came from David Macaulay's book, Castle. Joktan, Jayan, Erastus, Dedan, and Kenan, along with the Hradcanny dwarves are busy repairing Forngord castle. Some work on patchi...

Thanks! The plants were one of the funnest parts of the builddas_mikey wrote:That's great. I like all of the plant-life surrounding the castle. It really adds a lot to the already amazing amount of stuff going on in and around the castle.

Forngord Castle
My last free build for chapter 1 of Historica. My little brother helped me a bit with this, and it is our largest build (footprint wise anyway ;-) ) yet. There is a full interior to the castle, and quite a few of the doors/trapdoors work. Joktan, Jayan, Erastus, Dedan, and Kenan, along with the Hrad...

@legohunter: Thanks, I like to use only one color for castles now and again though, we always see castles now and they have different shades of stone because of aging, but back when they were used they were often one color, even painted/whitewashed one color to look more impressive. There is also a...

@legohunter: Thanks, glad you noticed the different symmetries of the houses. The roofs won't fall apart unless you actually touch/bump the roofs knocking the tiles off with your hand, otherwise they are quite stable

For Local Challenge 8 in Lands of Classic Castle. Challenge: "Build a scene depicting either your character or another Lenfel solider returning home from War. The focus should be in capturing emotion, not extravagant Landscapes/buildings!" I used only subdued colors in this build to help a...
