Using the coupon on the Joker's Steamroller set gets a great price per piece. As does the Milano Spaceship set.

A few new sets on clearance at the Barrie Walmart today. The Ghost (Star Wars Rebels) was $80, the X-Men versus Sentinel was down to $45 and a few other sets were reduced as well. Obviously, each store does its own thing, so happy hunting!

I use the "feel and identify" method, but that's mainly because I return the ones I don't want. I've been doing it since series 3, so I've gotten pretty good at it. I really don't know if opening them up affects their resale value or not.

No, don't know anyone. I just get lucky and buy them off the shelf. I think it was Walmart that I found them at. Basically, I just went in to the store each day after hearing they were out until I found them.
