Re: Black Mold inside Sealed Older sets

Yeah, unless you have a finished/climate-controlled basement, it's not the best place to store that type of stuff. Even without rain, basements are just prone to humidity because hotter/less dense air rises and cooler/more dense air settles. The more dense the air, the closer it gets to dew point an...

Re: Lego Dimensions Fun Pack 71216 Found at Wal-Mart

Did you try to buy it? Usually the register will not allow the sale before the shelf date, and that will alert the manager that someone wasn't paying attention, who will then have the section workers wipe all embargoed items off the shelves.

It must have just been in a non-climate-controlled room prone to high humidity, likely a basement or garage, for a really long time.

Eww... Did you buy it new? Otherwise it sounds like it was opened and resealed, and in the intervening time moisture somehow got inside.

Re: Lego store PAB clearance 80% off

HA! Sounds to me like store managers are selling their own theories on why these particular elements are being cleared out as the 'one true word'. Even if the above is true, with elements that 'belong' with other elements being cleared out (which makes sense in the case of the propeller, window latt...

Re: Lego store PAB clearance 80% off

Just to set the record straight at least on what I heard.... The boxes were supposedly not of overstock PAB or left over from their mini builds you buy and fill but talking to a couple of managers, they said it was boxes of retired or retiring elements. At first it was 5 box max per customer but on ...

Unfortunately, the link to the PDF version of the calendar, which always includes the back, is broken on their site and hasn't been fixed as of yet.

Re: Lego store PAB clearance 80% off

Dang, wish I had known before going this past Tuesday! What were the elements? What a weird plan, surely those bricks could be repurposed into the wall again at a later date. Not that I'll complain if I can get my hands on a fullish box of bulk PaB for 80% off! Would love to augment my collection of...

Re: LEGO Monsters Series 14 Minifigures - Now Sold Out

Sold out is only when LEGO doesn't know when they will come back in Not that I doubt they'll be back, but ^this is hardly a fact - they certainly play fast and loose with their own labels of "Hard to Find", "Out of stock, will ship in (x) days", "Sold Out" and "Temporarily out of stock". If the int...

You could probably turn the train into one of those rideable miniature scale trains for use in the WV:

That's what I immediately thought of the first time I saw it, but as a stand-alone build without modification it really doesn't fit the theme.

^ Nice! Also, found this one while searching for other similar proposals. This one actually includes a few of the same cites as the other proposal, but slightly more advanced builds. It's kinda too bad that it doesn't have as much support, but we can change that: 1911573-o_19l9ge67m11jgfv5tmdsoesq2c...

Re: US National Park Service Centennial (LEGO Ideas Proposal

While you are in Nashville you should consider checking out the Parthenon replica there. If you are fan of ancient history its amazing! I had intended to get up early on our second day there to get some sunrise/morning light shots of the river and Parthenon, and the city in the quietude of morning ...

Re: US National Park Service Centennial (LEGO Ideas Proposal

^ HA! We were actually at Mammoth Cave on the morning of Friday the 14th, then in Nashville for a day and a half. We got in the evening of the 14th and went to the Opry, then did the Ryman, Johnny Cash Museum, and the Country Music Hall of Fame that morning. We're in Pigeon Forge, TN right now, afte...
