2014 Lego Trains/Train Station

Post by greanie2011 » Mon Jan 13, 2014 6:15 pm

I would like to start this thread for those of us itching to get their hands on these new trains.

Has anyone seen any information regarding these sets?

60050 ?
60051 ?
60051 ?

Would love to see some Leaked pictures, Prices, Piece counts?

What is the average life span of train sets?
I know the Maersk was about a year and a half, and the yellow cargo train has been since 2010.

SOOOO Excited! I was pretty ecstatic about the last train (Constitution) and was not as satisfied, but i still love LEGO trains so i bought one.

hello,

I'm not going to direct you to the website but there are leaked pics from iBri*kCi*y (dot) com.
All of the pics are blurry/cut off now but at least we're going to get an idea how's it going to look like.
Take a look for yourself and come back for more comments/opinion!

I already brought myself 2 Horizon Express past Christmas so I'm good for now
But more trains the better ;-)

Hopefully there'll be better photos from upcoming toy shows. Passenger train looks like a high speed ICE train. The blue freight train appears to have a new windshield.

ILoveLegotrain,
Let me start by saying i concur with your username! I got a look at some of the "Leaked" photos for the upcoming trains. I like what i am seeing. Im sure they will come fully powered and ready to go which should be a blast to build and run. I was hoping the train station would be larger than what it appears to be. I would like to see a train barn or Yard of some sort.

The front of the new train coming out makes me wish I bought the current red one for $95 a few months back.

The blue one is nice, however the windshield is not new at all, just only rarely used in train sets, which are rare. it's a rarely used rare piece, but in blue might be new.

And from what I have seen on the station... I don't like it.

I actually like the front of the new passenger train, kind of like a bullet train.
I may have to put some extra juice to the new passenger train so it takes after the speed of the bullet trains. And probably some extra weight on the lower end to keep it from flying off the track (anyone who motorized the toy story train knows what I mean).

Thanks for the compliment! I've been collecting Lego trains since the 9V era and just missed so much with that generation... especially with the metroliner... (I do have few of them when I got it on sale  )
I'm worry the new passenger train will have same issue as the 7897, leaving a huge gap between the new nose piece and the body of the engine. Also I wish TLG make a creator modular train station as it would be soooo cool!

Wait a few weeks all non-exclusive sets will be revealed at Toy Fairs.

There you go.

Ugly "station" and are those Xpods in the cargo train set?

The train station does leave a little to be desired. Will make a good addition/connection point for the older bridge train station.
Cargo train looks to be good and cant wait to get one, I especially like the cargo crane. Passenger train is new/different and i will also enjoy owning and playing with it.

No complaints here, although i would still like to see a bigger train station.
