Chima LEGO Summer 2014 Sets: 70146 70145 70144 70143 70142 70141

Post by Toys N Bricks » Tue Apr 22, 2014 7:49 pm

One of the most eye catching themes this summer would probably be Legends of Chima. The bright orange fire on the box art in a snowy background is definitely going to make someone stop and have a look. Some of these "animals vehicles" are similar to previous Chima sets but in a snow-fire format. That Mammoth does look appealing though doesn't it? All of the sets are currently available for pre-order at Amazon UK.

70146 Flying Phoenix Fire Temple - £89.99

70145 Maula's Ice Mammoth Stomper - £69.99

70144 Laval's Fire Lion - £39.99

70143 Sir Fangar's Saber-Tooth Walker - £34.99

 70142 Eris' Fire Eagle Flyer - £24.99

70141 Vardy's Ice Vulture Glider - £17.99

I'm not sure about the Mammoth but, I like the Fire Eagle and the Vulture.

Chima isn't Ninjago.

I wish it was, NinjaGo has some creativity in it. All Chima is are weird vehicles shaped like animals.

^ I agree, this topic is taking a turn. Let's keep it civil, or it will be locked.

Anyway, I like the colors/pieces on the Ice Vulture and Sabre-Tooth Walker. The Mammoth looks pretty cool. The Eagle and Lion vehicles are a bit too "more of the same".

Some of these sets are reminding me of Dark Crystal.

Wait, are those new claw pieces in the Laval's Fire Lion set?

The Mammoth set reminds me of the Elephander from ZOIDS.

My kids have been a little disinterested in Chima for the past few months, but after showing them these pictures they got excited about them, so I am sure we will be buying them. I like the "zombie lion" look of Laval's vehicle. It would be fun to make a version using the same color scheme as the monster fighters haunted house.

Greatest movie ever, period, allowing of no disagreement. :-D

But I think the claws there are just the normal large barbs in Pearl Gold.

My son seems to have lost interest in Chima. For now. We don't have cable so he's not bombarded with ads, but he has watched all the episodes online. He quit asking about new episodes a few weeks ago. I enjoyed the Speedorz more than he did, I think. Nonetheless, the Temple and Mammoth will probably be Xmas gifts once they hit 30%+ off. The others are just rather "meh."
