I also would LOVE for Star Trek to come to Lego... the Ebay MOCs are kind of Ghetto, and Lego could make some SERIOUS cash:

Plus you add in the what.. 12-15 movies they've put out?

This "theme" would put Star Wars to shame.. how many different races / ships / bases / etc have we seen throughout the different series... the only problem is that Star Trek hasn't been "popular" in a while, and the last attempt at a series (Enterprise) lasted like 2 1/2 or 3 seasons before it ate it. I think the fact that is hasn't been "main stream" in a while would prevent Lego from buying the License. Our only hope is that Star Trek comes out with another Franchise that becomes popular...

That or unless us AFOL Trekkies unite and form a petition! WHO'S WITH ME?!

I would absolutely love for lego to buy this license. if they just want to get one, I hope they go with DS9, because of the larger variety of ships. However this would be a very expensive theme for me. I can already see the discussions with my wife. "but Honey, I really need this 6000 piece 599$ Deep Space Nine set!"

Scooby Doo!

I'm shocked that Scooby Doo or Ghost Busters hasn't been done yet. Is Scooby too esoteric? I don't know how popular it is/was in Europe. I can assume that they had Scooby. I spend about a month a year in Europe for work and they have several obscure American cartoons. I saw Caillou and Olivia during my last trip.

Scooby-Doo, now that it's been said, sounds like a wonderful line of Lego sets. The amusement park. The Mystery Machine. The house they all go into to solve the mystery. Neat ideas people.

I thought Angry Beavers or Invader Zim would be cool. Zim's house, spaceship, skool. I'd love to see how they did the minifigs. They'd be colorful sets to boot.

That's not exactly true. The Borg have spherical ships, and their space stations are these huge insect like colonies hooked up to each other.

Not really. A lot of the ships look very similar, there are no ground vehicle to speak of. Few minifig scale craft, and too many "bumpy forehead" aliens as opposed to the significantly different humanoids in Star Wars. While yes, I'd love to see it, it would be an economicly bad decision. Plus, to convince Lucasfilm Inc to share shelfspace????? No that's not happening.

As to the orginal question, we need to think not just as fans, but as businessmen. What would be neat to see that would generate money? I'd like Dr. Who, but not a lot of iconic vehicles or building to work with. Gi Joe is too close to modern warfare. James Bond and Jason Bourne? No not enough kid appeal/unique icon "stuff," sure there's the Austin Healy and the Sub-Lotus....but not much more.

Alice in Wonderland....lots of iconic scenes and stuff even if it isn't vehicles. A bit more "female" oriented so a bit of a gamble

He-Man...no too old

Harley Davidson....might work on a one UCS bike per year basis

Jetsons...while I would love it, not current enough. A small line of "The best of Hanna Barbara" would have enough appeal to be worth it. One Jetsons, One Flinstones, Josie and the Pussycats, Wacky Racers, Dexters Labratory, Courage the cowardly dog, Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines, and The Smurfs.

Simpsons...while seems to fit, so much of the merchadise seems to be shelf warmers I wouldn't do it.

you wont see themes where there's few to none vehicles or buildings. lego is not in the business of action figures but construction blocks. thunder thighs are not a good choice. unless you plan for it to follow ben10 down the gutter?

i love robotech but after the failed effort of exoforce not sure if they are ready for it. transformer, no way. hasbro won't allow it. they are doing it themselves. very bad decision. they should have joined forces with tlc for a transformer construction theme. doing it themselves will take way too long to build the sort of brand loyalty you get from lego fans. more fans are loyal to lego than to hasbro. i kinda doubt they will buy from hasbro's kre-o line. they would have gotten much faster payoff if they had followed lucas and license the theme to lego.

It's a shame there are so few, because they usually come with bricks in great and rare colors (the whole gamut of pink, purple and other pastel colors) and usually have a lot of whimsical pieces.
