I don't know how fair it is to compare the price per brick count for these sets. It is obvious that the dinosaurs molds are new and just cost more to produce. I probably won't pick any up at any price, but I think they look pretty sharp.

I opened and built the Ambush Attack and Tower Takedown, and I have to say I really like the dinosaurs.

I don't mind that the Coelophysis is all rubber.
The Pteranodon had plastic body and wings, but rubber lower jaw and head.

Also: the figure with tower takedown only has a one sided face.

Was able to put together the raptor chase set last night.
I really like it.

The Raptor is all plastic except the tail which is rubber which is already attached. The bottom jaw locks into 2 position.
I really like this theme.
Cant wait to get the other sets.

What are the Raptors, T-Rexes, and Triceratopses made out of?

Is 5888 Pteranodon Chase an exclusive? It's the one set that doesn't seem to be on S@H ...?

An exclusive to where? Exclusives are still on S@H, S@H gets all the sets.

It's probably not out yet being that it's a 2012 set being released 6 weeks early.

It isn't in the Instruction manuals, so it will be limited edition, my guess is Target only (besides S@H)

Just noticed this:
on 5887 Dino HQ, here is the desciption:
Protect the Dino HQ and send the dinos running!

Emergency! A vicious pteranodon is attacking one of our heroes on his jet boat and needs rescuing. Zoom down in the swift Ocean Interceptor, fire the net and capture the flying dino before he grabs his prey. Includes 2 hero minifigures and pteranodon dinosaur.
Includes 2 hero minifigures and pteranodon dinosaur
Vehicles include Ocean Interceptor and jet boat
Features rotating propellers, opening cockpit, net shooter and flick missile
Fire the net shooter!
Load the jet boat onto the Ocean Interceptor!
Measures over 11” (27cm) long and 10” (25cm) wide
Pteranodon measures over 4” (10cm) long and 7” (17cm) wide
Jet boat measures over 1” (2cm) wide and 2” (5cm) long

Someone messed up.
Clearly the 5888 description on the 5887 set.
Funny thing is, it was correct before.

Like the name of the plane "Ocean Interceptor"

I just wondered why all the other Dino sets were on S@H but not that one. I realize S@H will have exclusive sets too, just wondered where it was.

I know that this thread has been very dead for a long while but I wasn't in the mood to make a new thread.
I was surfing around YouTube today and I found out that Jurassic Park IV is coming out next year.

Which has me thinking...could Dino attack be a transition theme into Jurassic Park?
I remember that pirates was phased into Pirates of the Caribbean?
Growing up in the 1990's, Jurassic Park and dinosaurs was a grade 1/2 students dream come true.

I also remembered that they used Jurassic park as part of the Studio theme. Given the advances in Lego dinosaur technology and the expansion of lime green pieces, do you think that JP as a movie theme is possible?

Jurassic Park 4 is NOT coming out next year (2013), it might never come out after the the human/dino/dog DNA hybrids script that leaked years an years ago.

However the writers of Rise of the Planet of the Apes are now trying to save the franchise, so there might be hope yet. We have gotten two JP sets in the past so I wouldn't rule it out in the future.

I think the main weakness of the Dino set is lack of fully articulating joints of the Dinosaurs themselves. The best part of the Dino set is the articulating jaws of the Carnivorous dinosaurs . There are many different types of Ceratopians-Chasmosaurinae - Maybe its too much to ask but I think Lego should have interchangable heads so you can switch a Triceratops to a Torosaurus to a Monoclonius. Or better yet have interchangeable Lego horns. If I was to redesign the Lego Allosaursus/T-rex - I make his mouth so big that a minifig would slide into the mouth of the Predator and into a belly prison/hold which has a trap door underneath so you can get the minifig out. While the minifig is Inside the Carnivore's prison belly - you could shake the T-Rex to hear the minifig rattling inside ( pretending that the T-Rex is having a trouble digesting the minifig)! Indy get me outta here !!!
