Wow....they jacked the price of the Winter Post Office up by 10$ also here in the US I see.....70 hardly seems worth it for this one.....shame....not impressed with either of the price hikes after their so called "press releases"

Frankly, I think this is absurd. Both prices are comfortably under the $0.10 / piece break-point.

At first I was excited about the banjo looking instrument in the Post Office set but it seems a little weak now that I look at the high res zoom. Guns(weapons) will always sell better than instruments so I guess I should be happy for the effort and the flying V in CMF4 :)

The banjo almost looks like a sticker on a round clippy piece attached to a Harry Potter wand. I hope it's not a sticker...

Is that a saxophone the other minifig is playing? I think people should give him money so he can mold himself a nice, easy to notice instrument. Hate to say it-it kind of looks like a bong.

I think the strongest parts of the set are the gazebo and mail truck. I'll be getting it after I get the bake shop this year.

I agree it should be 59.99 seems that lego is starting to get greedy, first the cmf went up by a 1, now this, next I expect to see modulars rise to 175. One thing I will say is that every house in this winter village has a different lamppost! I mean they could at least keep them one design like they do the modulars so they have a uniform look to them. (just my personal opinion!)

I think what is the worst is the fact they had PRESS RELEASES about two weeks ago saying the sets were cheaper, and then they made a "mistake" and now they are higher. That's just sloppy.

If you look at the pieces the Winter set does have 800+ and 7 minifigures, more than the other, cheaper sets.

Man... I wanted to start collecting the Winter Village sets, but now I'm not so sure. $55/$60 was reasonable... $70 is quite a price-hike. Though, to be fair, it is 822 pieces - like Edmond Dantes says, still under $0.10/piece.

The toy shop was over 800 pieces and only 59.99...

I don't think the .10 per pc guide is always correct...most creator sets are WAY below the .10 per piece structure. Its a combination of that and the press release that said it was less at first. I really believe that the first stated price was the intended price and after they gave the go ahead on that release they changed it...prob due to the overwhelmingly positive response from the public....oh well not like my complaint on the price point is going to make a difference in anyones thinking :)

I'm trying to prioritize larger set purchases and am wondering how long a set like the VW will last versus your standard modular or MMV type set.

the beetle was on the market for about a year and a half, so I'd expect the van to run same.

Does anyone know if these two sets will be available in B&M Lego Stores? Or will they only be available through S@H?

I'm 99% sure they will be available in stores. The only set I can remember (not promo - actual set) that wasn't available in the B&M Lego store was the TRU truck - then again, that wasn't available online via S@H either - only in the TRU stores and on the website.

That would be because LEGO has no desire to promote TRU.
