Beautiful rendition of a real church and a very moving scene. Too bad they don't make the "profile brick" in brick yellow/tan, otherwise you would have been able to hint at the siding.
Also, your English is much better than my... any other foreign language!

I could really see something like this as an actual "Winter Village" set! Well done!

3 points - A Medieval Christmas - Brick Monster
I suppose I have a fair amount of bias going into this vote...still, I honestly think that it's the best entry. Admittedly it could have used more of a "Christmas-look" but it's still a lovely little scene. Perhaps an evergreen tree instead of a bonfire would have been better. ; )

Good luck to all.
Good luck to all.

I agree that it's a very impressively built scene (especially the base!), but it doesn't really convey "Christmas" to me... nor does it feel all that "Medieval" for that matter. Perhaps if the rooves were something other than grey (tan, perhaps, to convey thatch, or smaller tiles hinting at slate) the medieval vibe would read more. The only direct medieval aspect is the knight, who blends into the ground so much I didn't notice him at first. Without him, it could easily be a post-apoc nuclear winter scene.Knobby Plastic wrote:Admittedly it could have used more of a "Christmas-look" but it's still a lovely little scene. I'm also not certain as to why the only part of the ground that's covered in snow is under the fire... I would have thought everything BUT the area under the fire would be covered in snow - or at the very least it would be the largest melted patch, which would have made the scene much more wintery and also would have highlighted the "stone work" base by only revealing portions of it. As it stands, while it looks incredible, it's a bit over-powering to the rest of the scene.
But, if a "create the most depressing scene possible" contest is ever announced, I'd vote for this even if it wasn't entered!

Re: [Voting] Holiday LEGO Building Contest 2011
What, no love for the living Nativity? Unacceptable! I kid, there are a lot of entries that are clearly better than mine. There are some real talented builders out there.
After a lot of soul searching, I decided that I could not vote for entries from people with no previous posts, or for builds that while really awesome, in my mind didn't fit the theme of a winter holiday. So, I can't vote for Black Friday at the Big Box or Let Us Give Thanks, or Medieval Christmas (which doesn't look very Christmasy at all) even though they are really good builds.
condor - 1 vote.
bono1900 - 2 votes.

Waiting for Santa3 - StevePoulsen - 1 points
The Living Nativity - hatcher - 1 point
Holiday Baking - slovakiasteph - 1 point
These works are different but all about my favorite time of the year - Christmas!
I wish I had more pints to give.
Candy shop is a great work, but already has so many points that mine would not make a difference.
