[Raffle] 30101 Mia's Skateboard Polybags

Post by Toys N Bricks » Wed Apr 04, 2012 11:35 am

As promised early, we will now be offering a real giveaway to makeup for the joke we made a few days ago. In this raffle, we will be giving away 8 LEGO Friends 30101 Mia's Skateboard polybags. There will be four winners in total and each winner will receive 2 Mia's Skateboard polybags.

Thanks to the staff suggestions, we're going try something new this time for our raffle. We will be offering something similar to a tier that is based on post counts. Basically, this format is to reward members who contribute a lot/more. Since there are lots of members with little posts and few members with lots of posts, the chances of winning would be higher for those with more posts.

Raffle giveaway is open until this week on Sunday April 8, 2012 at 21:00 PST.

Raffle Rules (Please read!) Tier Based (4 catergories)
Please enter in the correct catergory (post count should be calculated prior to announcement of raffle). Even if you are the winner, we will have to unfortunately give your prize to someone else if we find that you entered incorrectly. We will not check when you enter.

Toys N Bricks reserves the right to modify or change the rules at anytime.
By accepting the prize, you have read and understood our basic contests & prizes rules.

In case you don't believe that this is a real raffle (because of the prank we did on April Fools), here's a picture of the polybags. I went to 3 stores yesterday just to look for this specific one since its not available in the US. :)

I don't know where I fall. Probably somewhere in the 0-20 range as well.
Wow, I just saw the side bar said I have 129 posts. Cool

This is an interesting way of doing the raffle. It will be interesting to see if the number of actual entries for each group is consistently proportional to the potential group size. While Tier 1 might be the largest potential group, those members would seem to be the least active on this site. If that translates to lower numbers of entries, entering in that tier might not be as bad of a shot as you'd think at first glance. Whereas members in the higher tiers check this site daily or hourly and will be all over a raffle like an unmolested box of CMF just set out next to a TRU register.

You have over 700, if you look at your post above it appears under your username/avatar.

I'm finding it interesting to see how many entries there are in each level.

Thanks for holding the giveaway! (You totally got me on April 1st.)

I actually wonder if the tier system won't be the reverse of what's intended, that is the best chances of winning will be those in the <20 category because most never come here that often or contribute. I have circa 55 posts and can't remember making most of them :)

No, they have over 40 entries so far, the other categories have 20 or less. The more entries, the lower your chances of winning.

Do you enter for over all posts or do you enter for your post only during the contest period?

It's total posts as of time of posting in the raffle topic.

Maybe everyone should include their then-current post count along with the requisite sentence in the appropriate raffle topic, because there could easily be cases where entrants cross the threshold into the next bracket during the raffle timespan...
