"The Godfather" Opening Scene

Well people, this is my Entry for this great contest.

I've made a vignette inspired by the movie "The Godfather" (1972)
Definitely one of my favourite classics!

I have used the Waiter from Series 9 as Don Corleone and the vignette counts about 320 pieces.
Since the torso doesn't have a rose, I made one on the office, ready to be clipped on Don's tuxedo.

"Bonasera... Bonasera... What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectfully?"

This is great, I love how you used the joystick head for the plant, great job
(I originally was thinking of doing this as my entry aswell as a ton of other ideas but in the end I just came to my final decision which was really hard)

The same one as you (I have a full catalogue to choose from), instead I decided to enter my wizard of oz vignette and my limit on parts wasn't too brilliant if I'm honest.

Title: Part of Your World

I made the scene from The Little Mermaid (1989) where Ariel sings Part of Your World. She is in her cave surrounded by her gadgets, gizmos, and thingamabobs which are things that the humans have lost to the sea and she recovers but doesn't know what they are. She also has a statue of Prince Eric that has sunk to the ocean floor. I added to the scene Prince Eric standing on the shore and Scuttle (the seagull) resting on a rock.

CMF: Ariel is made from a combination of CMF. The upper body and face are from Mermaid (S9), the tail is from Ocean King (S7), and the hair is from Forest Maiden (S9).

20000 Leagues Under the Sea

There are (at least) 2 movies of this story, one from 1916 and one from 1954. The one from 1916 has a scene with a deep sea diver fighting a "giant" octopus, but the octopus isn't as big as the giant squid from the 1954 version, which doesn't have deep sea divers in the same scene. Also, the 1916 version deep sea divers use the same suit as the Lego minifig, while the 1954 suits are more modern-looking.

Pieces used: 345 + the minifigs.

The scene uses 469 pieces, including the CM Mummy and Royal Guard (with Zombie head and hands).

Great entry, with neat techniques, however (I don't want to sound as the bad guy ) the CMFs you used are barely visible, I mean isn't the whole point of the contest to built something that uses a CMF as one of the main characters of the scene?

Other than that, as a huge Burton fun my self, I find your Jack really really cool with some great npus!

IMHO, no, the CMF was just another challenge for this contest. How you use the CMF, background or foreground isn't specified in the rules. Since this is a community vote on the subjective appeal of the entries, you could personally use any criteria you'd like to rank the entries, but I think it'd be unfair to downgrade graznador's just because it's not the center of attention.

Sorry if It came out that way, that wasn't my intention! I thing you misunderstood me. As I've said before in my previous comment, I love that entry and I find some NPUs really neat! My comment was intended to be a constructive beginning (maybe for a dialogue) over the "limitations" and challenges of this contest, ie using the CMF in a movie scene, which was basically and my initial push to build something and submit an entry as I found it really intriguing, and how each one of us found a solution for including it in the vignette.

I used a total number of 170 LEGO pieces and 6 mini-figures, the collectible mini-figure being the detective from series 5, portraying the role of Robin Williams as John Keating, an English teacher in Welton Academy.

Dead Poet Society is one of my favorite movies and it has become so inspirational and unforgettable that i just had to make a scene of it out of LEGO pieces. The required dimension was to little to fit an entire class so I was only able to place few mini-figures on it.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) - Giant Squid Battle

"You'll be fighting at close quarters with the most tenacious of all sea beasts."

489 parts - including exploded minifigure components.
Peter Lorre's Conseil is the 100% CMF here, using series 9's waiter torso and legs, and series 2's weightlifter head and hands. The scene also features the head of series 2's Spartan warrior as our distressed Captain Nemo, and series 8's diver (without the head) in the background.

My interpretation of the contest encompasses the entire scene: a series of moments in one vignette, rather than a specific moment like some of the excellent entries here. This build was a bit of a challenge with the CMF and 500 part limit, but still immensely enjoyable!

My vignette is from Pee Wee's Big Adventure (1985), the scene where the fortune teller tells him his bike is in the basement of the Alamo. CMF is the fortune teller from Series 9. Crystal ball and chandelier both light up at the same time using lego light bricks and a linkage of technic pieces. Number of pieces is 463. Please enjoy, thank you for your consideration.
