Great! Can he use CMF?
Re: [Contest] Winter 2013: Minifig Holiday Traditions Vignet
That depends on which theme the CMF loosely falls under. Bear in mind that CITY/TOWN type figures are ineligible since they are too similar to the Winter Village theme. If it's one of the monster, Sci-fi or fantasy type figures, then no problem. I think the wackier the better, too, but that's just me. If people want to play it straight, I have no problem with that.brickarmor wrote:Great! Can he use CMF?

Ok, my vignette is well on its way!
Is there a date to start submitting in the entries thread or is it already open for entries?
Also I've read the instructions, I know I need a title but may I also ad a few sentences? The vignette basically speaks for itself but I'd also like to write some words to accompany it.

Can we use discontinued themes? I have an idea for a vignette but it's using minifigs from a theme I collected as a kid.
If the answer is yes I'll get to work right away!

Yes, feel free to write a bit of a description, but remember - a long-winded description will probably be met with a lot of TL;DR and can sometimes smack of over-explaining because of lack of faith in the build to explain itself.
Yes, all themes, past and present, are acceptable besides CITY/TOWN.TSchwalf wrote:Can we use discontinued themes? I have an idea for a vignette but it's using minifigs from a theme I collected as a kid.

Does it have to be EXACTLY 16x16? I mean, can your base be kind of round or have a missing corner or so? Can it be 15x15 and have a bit of overhang on the 16x16 place? Thx.
Re: [Contest] Winter 2013: Minifig Holiday Traditions Vignet
No, it doesn't need to be exactly 16x16, that's just the maximum dimensions.
Re: [Contest] Winter 2013: Minifig Holiday Traditions Vignet
Question: If a person won or placed, can we decline the win so that we would be eligible to participate in the next upcoming contest? I'd like to enter this contest but still want to be able to participate in the next.
Re: [Contest] Winter 2013: Minifig Holiday Traditions Vignet
That's a fairly odd request. I'd say, if you want to build something and not win, just build something within the contest rules but don't enter it into the contest. Post it in the LEGO Creations forum.

I haven't seen a Voting thread yet. Am I missing something?

takes a bit to compile it allbrickarmor wrote:I haven't seen a Voting thread yet. Am I missing something?

Yep, I wanted to get it up this past weekend, but there are some outstanding issues regarding irregular entries. We'll be opening the voting topic ASAP after all lingering issues are resolved. Thanks for your understanding.davedude wrote:takes a bit to compile it allbrickarmor wrote:I haven't seen a Voting thread yet. Am I missing something?
The topic will have the same title as this one, but with [Voting] in front instead of [Contest] (or [Entries]).

Thanks for pointing this out, davedude. I've removed the posts from the voting topic and put them in the discussion topic.
And ammes7 - while I applaud and appreciate the fact that you voted for other contestants, we instated the "contestants can't vote" rule for just that reason. There was another contest in the past where a contestant opened the voting by giving points to other entries while the other contestants voted for themselves, so you can see the conundrum here - at best it's just an extra three points I would have to tally for each contestant, at worst it puts those who are so gracious as to vote for other contestants at a disadvantage.
