LEGO Research Institute - Wider Availability (Now at Toys R Us Canada)

Post by Toys N Bricks » Thu Sep 11, 2014 1:55 pm

Both LEGO Ideas set, the Research Institute and Exo-Suit sets are now instock and available for sale at ToysRUs.ca. 21109 Exo-Suit is probably a little easier to find nowadays. 21110 Research Institute on the other hand had been quite difficult to obtain. It also created further difficulties when LEGO Shop at Home listed it as not being available for sale online and caused some worried fans regarding the limited availability at LEGO Brand Stores.

LEGO 21110 Research Institute (reg.$24.99)

Its definitely good news that Toys R Us is now carrying Research Institute. So far, they're the first retailer that is not LEGO to be selling the research institute set. This means that LEGO is no longer the exclusive holder for this Ideas set. Hopefully, other retailers in the world would start carrying this set soon. Thanks to Kateryna for writing in with the tip!

The research institute was never available at us TRU, but the exo suit has been seen there, it's a slow moving set especially after the initial excitement has settled.

It says:

This item is not in stock for "Ship-to-Home", but is available for Store Pickup. Enter your Postal Code to find it in a store in your area.

Only 2 stores across GTA having them but they are OOS already.

Although it says "Available" but when you put into the cart, it asks you to pick it up at the store, where all stores don't have the option for you to pick it up.

As of this post it's 1:05 pm and I'm on the parking lot at Lego Discovery Center Downtown Disney, Fl. They have 7 RI on the shelf. Call now to reserve, 1 per family, transaction.

Still reading this run...

my order status is still at "Item(s) located in stock". Which means I should get it, but I'll feel better once it has shipped!

I can't seem to find the Research Institute set on the ToysRUs website anymore... is it just me?

Both hyped up sets in my opinion, still do not get why so many of us get disspointed not getting it. If these were something like the SDCC exclusives I can see why. As I have said before, if these sell like hot cakes, LEGO WILL MAKE MORE or create a whole theme from these in the very near future.

I had an alert set somewhere and it showed me the LEGO Research Institute was available for mail order from Toys R Us. So I ordered a few for gifts.

But from a previous poster, seems it is possible this was just a website glitch and my order may be cancelled later?

I wouldn't order online from TRU, apparently the boxes always get damaged.
