I don't recall exactly, but didn't people get screwed when they tried to order potc this way? I didn't order any myself so my memory may not be accurate.

Are there any coupon codes that work with the preorder? I tried a few coupons but none seem to work...

Are those prices realistic or higher than expected?

These sets are most definitely not Ninjago, but instead Lord of the Rings.

Uruk-hai Army 9471(6/1/2012) -$26.95
The Mines of Moria 9473(6/1/2012) -$71.95
The Battle of Helms Deep 9474(6/1/2012) -$116.95
Shelob Attacks 9470(6/1/2012) -$17.95
Gandalf Arrives 9469(6/1/2012) -$11.95
Attack on Weathertop 9472(6/1/2012) -$44.95

Last year I used a 30% off coupon with my pre-order of an upcoming LEGO set, and it worked fine. I'm not sure why coupons wouldn't work with these, though. Also, these prices are most likely realistic, as I believe thay were with last year's pre-orders. Though it does seem a bit strange to be paying $50 for a desk lamp-maybe it's big? :eh: But if the price for something such as the Lego Harry Potter Character Encyclopedia -$12.81 seems a little cheap to you, it's probaly because B&N puts enclclopedias and such at a lower price than retail. Hope this helps, at least a little. :-)

You are correct. I think all the orders were cancelled. I was tempted to order the LoTR sets, but given the past, I won't bother.

Thanks for the thoughts! It seems like the coupons don't work for me - I tried several from 30% to 15% off. Did anyone try a coupon and it worked?

many places, including Amazon and BJ's have the Encyclopedias for around $12. Its a hit or miss with Amazon but i picked up both Star Wars and HP Encyclopedias in Dec. for around $13.

I think as a general rule of thumb, BN does not allow coupons to be applied to pre orders on any merchandise - maybe last year that was the loop hole that accidentally forgot to close on the POTC lego sets and cancelled all pre orders to remedy that situation.Tried this on dvds, lego, home/gifts, electronics, other toys/games in the past

I got screwed out of my PotC preorder. I also found another forum poster that said the same thing happened with Pharaoh's Quest preorders (they got cancelled). So tread with caution at least. I would recommend waiting and buying from someone else. Not worth the trouble.

Is it me or alot of cheap sets. I mean only 1 set with a price tag of over 100. I mean I normally only buy sets 100 dollars plus and was hoping for a gigantic avengers set with a 150 price tag or higher.
