They were in a toy aisle but not the Lego aisle. He asked me why someone would do that and I replied "I suppose they might have been after the minfigs". He then said, "no, here are some pieces", showing me a minifig torso. I was like "please put that down and dont mess with it". lol

I've seen boxes in Walmart before that have been retaped. I usually dont think to examine the seals when I purchase sets so need to make sure to do that so I dont get burned. If these are sets that are being returned they need to train their customer service staff to check the box for open or missing bags (since they are numbered). Ridiculous that some douches would do this .....
Your son might be right, they might have only taken out the the big blue guy and not the smaller mini figures.

I just didnt want him to handle loose pieces and have someone think we had something to do with it. lol

That brings me to another thought - Ive seen some people post in Lego themed facebook groups post about finding loose Lego pieces on store shelves and taking them. To me that is just outright stealing.

I agree with you. I worked at Toys R Us and found a LEGO leg and I didn't take it because I felt like I was stealing the thing, I stuck it in a CMF baggie and gave it to the people in the back to deal with.

If I find random LEGO outside (I once found a bad, but functioning, DS game in a hotel parking lot) that I might take, but right off the shelf, you are no better than the MegaBloks that opened the set.

I just sent Walmart a nasty email about them charging my credit card before I even picked up my orders. They will be giving me another one for selling me a used set.

I was on a trip a couple weeks ago, and stopped in a random Walmart we passed to see if we could find a any deals. It was kind of a dumpy walmart.

I usually look behind boxes and such to see what I can found. This was like a scene straight from a horror show. I found an opened Samsung Box, with a missing cell phone, and empty Xbox One game case(Game gone of course), and two boxes of legos just opened and with pieces on the shelves. I felt dirty just being in the aisle. I kind of booked it quick after that, I didnt want to be accused of any shenanigans, but it seems like the Lego aisle is used for thievery in that store. It was pretty gross.

I agree. When I see something opened I try to teach my son to get away from it so that he isn't blamed. I've been tempted to pick up a loose LEGO part lying on a shelf or in the floor but I always leave. I didn't pay for it and it wasn't given to me.

I picked up Chima Mammoth Stomper 70145 for $45. It looked like it was the last one and it looks like it has some interesting pieces. I'm hoping to sell the minifigs for at least $30 to justify buying the set.

I also found one LEGO (Brave) Merida's Highland Games set for $9. I had purchased one on sale earlier and really liked the Brave figure, 3 little bear (brothers) and other parts. It was mixed in with the new Jasmine's Exotic Palace. I guess someone either hid or didn't notice it was different when they tidied up the shelves. There was no clearance sticker on it.

My best deal was a DUPLO My First Shop 10546 (retail 24.99) for $5 for my niece. Clearance sticker said $11 but it scanned and rang up at checkout for $5

I found no sign of TMNT (other than the big $99 sewer set.. reg price) or other good deals.

I swung by the closest one to me today just to see if prices dropped on anything. While walking towards the toy aisles, I went past the automotive section which had a shopping cart in the middle of the aisle completely full of random items, mostly toys. It looked like they were items that were to be restocked. Sitting right on top was the most random set, and I could not pass it up. While it wasn't on clearance (rang up at $49.97), it was a must get. What the heck was this thing doing there? It's from 2010!
Are you in Soutg Florida? I don't remember what city I was in but I saw 3-4 of those too!

The Walmart I took the box to closest to my house told me I had to take it to the Walmart I purchased it from. In this case it wasn't a big problem since the other Walmart is not one I frequent but not too out of the way. I'll have to be more careful from now on.

Other then a couple $10 friends set at $5 I didn't find much else on my return run.

That's interesting. I returned my set to a different one and the very nice women just asked what's wrong, and was shocked I got it for $35.That was it. I wish there was one I could exchange it for, the set has really grown on me, I like the big comic book space ships.

Yeah, I think my Walmart just didn't want to deal with a lego box full of mysterious, suspisious crap.

Went to walmart last night. Seems they put out new clearance stuff. Got a creator forest animals set for $5! (Was marked wrong: Stickered $13/$19.99). Last one, trashed box. Also the creator cat and mouse one for $15. Some small fire truck sets for $9 (were $12 or $13). And small ninjago sets $5 (were $12 I think). Saw creator helicopter 3-in-1 for $15 (were $19.99) and some creator 3-in-1 green motorcycles for $9 ($13? Before).

Went to walmart and got

70133-1: Spinlyn's Cavern for $11.00

Best part though is being told Legos never get marked down, guess she was hoping to push the sales a little.

Finally scored a TMNT sub today for $30! I've been looking for a month. Also got the Friends pet salon for $19 and left a beat up TMNT T-rawket along with about 10 ninjago mech dragons. Everything was in the center clearance displays next to the toys.
