Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases

Post by vynsane » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:18 pm

So I had a two-week ordeal trying to get the chance to actually connect with the guy selling it, but finally today I had the opportunity to pick up 3451 Sopwith Camel for a grand total of $15! It's currently going for between $40 and $100 on eBay. There's no box, but it had the original instructions. It looks complete, but I haven't had the opportunity to put it together yet. For that price, though, I'd be okay with a few missing pieces.

I finally filled a few gaps in my collection with the 6208 B-Wing and 4479 Tie Bomber, they just showed up yesterday. :D

Have a few auctions ending tonight that I hope to pick up some more older sets I'm missing.

I bought the new Kindgom Impulse sets, 5 more collectable minifigures, and about $3 in particular bricks off of LEGO.com. Got myself some nice points rolling in there :D

1 large Pab cup, 1 grab bag of misc lego, BBQ Stand Mini Set, Lego Heart seasonal set.
Picked up a grab bag of bricks at the Lego store and it contained the complete 8061 set, including the mini-figs. Not bad for $7.99

Usually the grab bags are broken down sets that were displayed, and misc pieces.

went to the Lego Store in Frisco and picked up the following:

2 Easter bunny's (40005) on clearance - looking for some roof pieces and brown pieces
1 large pick your own bucket

tried to get some minifigures series 1, but were out. They said the could order from lego.com for me and waive shipping, but when we tried, lego.com showed them as sold out. :(

Wow! That seems atypical of the grab-bag, the ones I've seen have been significantly lighter on pieces than that.

got the following from lego.com
5 minifigures series 1 (got 1 clown, 2 auqaman, 1 ninja, 1 spaceman) very happy with results
2 Wizard minifigure sets #7955
1 Farm minifigure set # 7566

Got the following from Target
Princes of Persia: The Fight for the Dagger #7571
Target had it on sale for $3 off. the box was damaged so they took another 10% off and along with that used a 10 gift card I got for filling prescription :)
We got this set with my daughter in mind: it has a princess, jewels, food, and an animal (those are her favorite parts of the lego sets)

Thanks. I am really excited, they were all sets I want and didn't own.
The only other set I was hoping for was the Fire Brigade, but none available.

Those were one of the best deals at half price. The newer sets they did not put as big of a discount. Still good. For the fire brigade, TRU sometimes have deals on creator but you have to check their site right when they start. Otherwise, they sell out quick within a matter of hours.
