Amazon's price for the baseplate is usually $7 to $8, so $5 is actually a good price with free shipping (and no tax if you're lucky)

$4.99 is the best I've seen for awhile. Two years ago I got some green and blue baseplates for $4 each after discount and haven't seen anything better since. I wish they still made the 10x10 light gray baseplate.
