[US] TRU BOGO 50% 9/22-28

Post by UnknownUser » Sat Sep 21, 2013 9:07 pm

NO B2G1F SALE WHYYYY

At least no exclusions this time around and $10 giftcard with $40 purchase (in-store only, not sure if reuseable) stacks with the sale...

TRU jacked up prices for this sale, Vamp castle is $130.

Raising prices the same day you have a "sale" should be a crime.

Actually, I think it is in many places, but no one seems to enforce it.

Not even going to bother. TRUs "sales" usually work out to be less than 10% off MSRP.

I'm going to complain again about how horrible TRU is and how I haven't shopped there in years but still feel the need to * and moan about it in every topic possible.

It's getting old people.

I need some series 11 minifigures, so this will work out well. I'm sure you can't combine the sale with the giftcard.

I think you should understand that even small complaints could possibly have an effect. It's when people stop complaining that there will be no change.

Just took advantage of this sale in-store:

Lego Summer Riding Camp (TRU exclusive) = $119 list price
Lego Chima Chi Temple = $119 list price

After 50% off one set, that comes out to $180 total, or $90 per set. Plus, I got the $10 gift card by using the newspaper coupon.

They made it very clear, though, that the gift card expires Novermber 2, 2013, which is conveniently before Black Friday. Since when do gift cards expire?! I shouldn't have too much trouble using it before then, so this deal turns out to be decent in this case.

^ Nothing wrong with your deal, but it really isn't much of one, for all those hoops.

Summer Riding Camp is $99 in the LEGO store or online, and you get the VW Camper Van.

Chima Chi Temple is $90 or so at Target right now.

So a "deal"?

Meh, too many hoops to jump through to buy for the price they are at anyway.

IMHO.

Yes complaining on a small LEGO site, that will really show TRU!

They have only been doing the pricing fraud for 10 years now, I'm sure they will change their ways!

What hoops? Going into a TRU, grabbing the items, taking them to the register, paying for them, and walking out of the store? Oh the horror of having to engage in commerce in person while being able to do a little basic math.

IF you can get your TRU to let you use the $10 GC coupon multiple times, THEN there are some possible deals. I could spend $40 easily if they'd ever get more CMF 11 in.

Yeah I bought four random series 11 when they first came out a month ago and never went back. I got three rare ones out of the 10 they had so I was happy. Went today and they were redoing it to take your eyes away from the fact they were ripping you off, tons of LEGOs everywhere, empty CMF bin. Which is weird because they always get the shipment in on Saturday or early Sunday.

However in a random box thrown on the floor was the brain TMNT polybags, 30270, for $4, so two for $6 is nice.

And I could have gotten two of last years Star Wars advent calendars (they are really going to confuse people soon) for $45 plus the $10 gift card.

The prices in there were so bad and the layout even worse I didn't even try to find other deals. But TRU is still the store to find polybags.

Has anyone successfully purchased the CMF 11s with this sale? Last week they were hot price items and not eligible for discounts for the %20 off coupon (even though they were 0.20 more than anywhere else).

Has anyone scored both free $10 GC and save $10 deal with using R"US" credit card?

I stopped bothering taking TRU sales seriously a long while back. I never buy anything from them online. But when I'm in their stores I'm quite happy. Their customer service has often impressed me.

The hobbit barrel escape set is only $44.99 in store so after the sale and the gc, it's $33.75+tax for 2 sets with a $10 gc. Not too bad if you use the gc on polybags.

The Coast Guard Patrol (60014) is $69.99 in store, $10.00 below MSRP.

I bought the MF 11's and got $10 GC this morning, not bad.

The Eagles' Castle (70011) on line price is $33.99, but the store price is $44.99. If they can do the price match and get the $10 GC, I think it's a good deal, but I didn't try it.
I found The Lion CHI Temple (70010) is $119.99 and The Croc Swamp Hideout 70014 is 69.99, those two set price just match MSRP.

BTW, They told me the GC need to wait 6hr to open.

Are the Series 11 minifigures good for this sale?
Thanks
