PSA: regarding passwords

Post by SpaceViking » Sat Jul 23, 2011 7:22 pm

If you use Bricklink, but don't visit the forum much, you may have missed this... so I'm posting this reminder here because it is worth repeating:

A few user accounts on Bricklink were hacked this past week. The Admins have done a great job patching the damage and blocking future similar attacks. However, at least 6 bricklinker's paypal accounts were also hacked, because those folks used the same password for both bricklink and paypal.

The take-away is, whether you use bricklink or not, follow good password etiquette and use a unique password (and even username) for paypal.

this competes tonight's public service announcement. Enjoy your Saturday night!

Thanks for the heads-up, SH1. I don't frequent the forum over at BL much (because it's a nightmare to navigate) so it's good to get these types of notices proliferated throughout the community.

I agree, I tried it once, but then came back to TnB
