Air Canada
Well looks like I just lost $213 to Air Canada. I booked a one-way flight for three on September 10th (three days ago) from Vancouver to Las Vegas, and I found out today they had a promotion going on until the 15th of September that you can board the same flight for only $119. And I can't get the price difference back because they only offer that within 24 hours of the booking. Anyone else experience this as well? Also, anyone been to Vegas before, do you know a place where I can pick up LEGO at US MSRP?
Re: Air Canada
Aw that sucks. $119 would have been a very good deal. I didn't notice anything at Las Vegas other than the casinos/hotels. Don't think there's a LEGO store in the State of Neveda either.
Have a good trip! I know that many of the fast food places are very cheap in the states though. McNuggets in the States are only $5 for 20 pieces or something.
For that price, I can only get 6 McNuggets in Canada after tax...lol

Once you are away from the strip, Las Vegas resembles many other western US towns. Target and Toys R Us would be the first place to look for LEGO deals. After that, Walmart and K-Mart.Legobrandon wrote: Also, anyone been to Vegas before, do you know a place where I can pick up LEGO at US MSRP?

True, they also have 50 nuggets for 10 bucks on Sundays. I bet I can't even get a 10 piece nugget meal in Canada for 10 dollars. Thanks!Ice wrote:Have a good trip! I'm sorry about the lost airfare issue, that stinks. BUT who the heck can eat 50 nuggets? Even my family of 3 couldn't polish off 50 nuggets in one sitting! I guess you need a teenager or something
Re: Air Canada
Wow I didn't know that. 50 nuggets for $10 is cracy! I can't even get it at that price from the supermarket (and I have to bake it myself).Legobrandon wrote: True, they also have 50 nuggets for 10 bucks on Sundays. I bet I can't even get a 10 piece nugget meal in Canada for 10 dollars. Thanks!
Next time I go the States, I will have to get some Nuggets. Its too bad theres no more chocolate ice cream or supersize anymore. That "Super Size Me" video ruined it.

Re: Air Canada
Wow, I just did a little research and found out that the Bellis Fair Mall (10-15 min drive from border, not including wait times) used to have a large TRU store. But because of money issues they had to close it down. Wow, imagine all the sales we British Columbian's can get if you were willing to make that drive. Well its too bad, but anyways that mall has a Target, and just minutes away is a Walmart, and a B&N store.
Re: Air Canada
Ya that store was shut down a couple years ago along with hundreds of other Toys R Us stores in USA. Toys R Us wasn't do that great that time and they had this new restructuring plan in place.
Though, I like their plan on "Holiday Express" stores. Its a good thing for the company as most of their sales are in Q4 and by opening up more stores, they'll increase their exposure to the consumer.

I wonder would this "Holiday Express" store carry as many lego set as TRUs store, and would it offer the same sale and deal as TRUs store.Ice wrote:Ya that store was shut down a couple years ago along with hundreds of other Toys R Us stores in USA. They're the mini Toys R Us stores. The ones that had strong sales like the one in North Vancouver continued to operate throughout the year. Stores that didn't have as strong sales like the Burnaby Brentwood one would probably be shut down after Christmas. Though, they're opening again this Christmas. =)

Re: Air Canada
Just came back home to Vancouver. I had a very nice time at Vegas. Stayed at the Bellagio Hotel. As for LEGO sets, I did go to the South Premium outlet centre and went inside a very tiny TRU Outlet. Very limited selection. They did have the BOGO 50% sale.
