Looking for advice re Pokemon

Post by melsig » Wed Nov 28, 2012 10:16 am

My son has been getting all excited about Pokemon after talking with friends at school. I thought I'd get a couple starter packs and boosters to stick in his Christmas stocking, but I'm finding the sheer variety of cards confusing. Can anyone help me out? What series would be good to start him out on? Thanks!

This happened to my son last year, too. When you get him the Pokemon cards, make sure it is the latest/new release. They liked to trade cards, but they didn't enjoy to trade with outdated cards (in general). Following are the links to the Pokemon card website and some reviews/introductions in video. It seems that "Dragon Vault" and "Black & White-Boundaries Crossed" is the latest card set. You may consider to buy him a Cold Fire Theme Deck (showed at the third and fourth URL) or 1-2 individual pack to start with (showed at fifth and sixth URL). Just my 2 cents.

Oh, thank you, that's very helpful. I did see that deck at Target this morning, but the whole section was like Greek to me. I'll have to write the title down!
