Target Canada 1 Year Anniversary LEGO Sales & Deals

Post by Toys N Bricks » Fri Jun 20, 2014 9:48 pm

Update: Cragger's Command Ship is also 50% off for $49.99 (reg.$99.99). Thanks to forum member tired.

After a year of entry into the Canadian market, Target has been pretty disappointing compared to its stores in America, as evident with its $1 billion in losses last year. Hopefully with their new president, they'll be able to make a comeback as their stores are indeed quite nice. The actual shopping experience is no doubt better than Wal-Mart, but they seriously need to address their logistics/supply chain management problem as their shelves are empty on a regular basis.

They do however have quite a bit of good storewide sales going on this week in celebration of their 1 year anniversary from June 20-26. In terms of LEGO, they have put many more additional products on clearance in the past few days. Even better, they'll be having a 1 year anniversary promotion where you can get a free $10 Target Gift Card when you spend $50 or more. This offer is valid for 3 days only until Sunday, June 22nd. The deals are already quite nice so the gift card makes it even better!

Thankyou for the promo, but it reminds me alot of the Lego store VIP points where you buy now and save later. Why not simply just go with take an extra 20% when you spend $50? Deal is good as is, but as I mentioned on the other post, even with this promo, it can not beat 75% off when the discount drop to that. And for those whom THINK they can price adjust, well it only apply within 7-14 days. Return and repurchase on the spot is not allow either, guess they learned that from Walmart.

Coquitlam Target, as usual, had millions of hectares of empty shelves. Some evidence of some Movie sets being 20% off but only 1 set left. No sign of anything being 50% off unless it was somewhere else in the store.

Sure but 50% in the hand is worth two 75% out of stocks. Most of these particular sets aren't sticking around long enough to fall to 75%, unfortunately.

For gosh sake's people, wait on the Star Wars though. 30% off is pretty lame.

Not sure about stock levels now, but Surrey Target the other day had quite a bit. They had about 10 Black Gates, Unexpected Gathering and a couple of the other ones. Lots of homing spider droids.

Lots of stock in Winnipeg as well. Picked up 3 Black Gates and 3 Unexpected Gatherings today. Not really interested in the Chima and Ninjago. Call me crazy, but I went through the till 6 times, each time adding a few grocery or other items I needed to bring each total to $50. As a result I received $60 in gift cards making this deal even better!

jealous there are none here (Vancouver)
but hey, you're in Winnipeg
and it is this bad management which is why Target sucks
... except for the few of you that get good Lego deals.

A few AT-TE, Jabba's Sail Barge and Homing Spider Droids left here in Red Deer, but every other set listed was nowhere to be found. Totally would have picked up an Unexpected Gathering. :/

Found 5x unexpected gatherings and 4x black gates that I scooped up. There were still a few more black gates left as well as jabba sail barge and gunships as well as chima and malibu mansions. Kitchener location, nothing left up in Waterloo

Surrey Central City had lots on Friday. Probably none now though.

Central City. I don't think they'll have much left after the weekend. Sets were going really fast on Friday. The day earlier, they had a full supply of Unexpected Gatherings and Battle of Smallville. I didn't get anything though as I was hesitant. Went back on Friday and Battle of Smallville were all gone. ):

Oh well, I did end up getting Unexpected Gathering and Malibu Mansion Attack and got a $10 gift card which I was pretty happy about as I wasn't expecting it.

Thanks for the heads up! You're probably right that it's cleared out but I'll still take a look just in the off chance.

Anyone think/know if Target will be doing any further discounts on any of these sets? Last time they did 50% clearance the discount went down to 75% 2 weeks after. Hoping the SW sets go down more at least to 50%.

I have said it many times before, IF people are sucking them up at 30-50%, why would they drop it more? We might see some of the 30% drop more but with all the reports of the 50% being wiped clean, I highly doubt we will see 75%.

Saw a lot of Gunships, AT-TE's, and Battle Packs before the weekend, but I don't see much left now. Those who took advantage of the gift card promotion on the weekend would of received an extra 10% off or better depending on the value of the set. Possibly some Chima or Ninjago may make it to 70%.

50% off is still a good deal so people will buy because there will be very little chance to get them at this discount again. "Toys For More" in Canada seems to never discount lego to 50% and lately Walmart discounts have disappeared. I want the SW gunship but it's still expensive even at the current 30% discount.
