It was $30 3 years ago, some different pieces and some stores even have to clear them at $10-20. But all that was befoe the lego movie...etc. At $40 it is pretty good, but too much common colours bricks for my taste. If it come with bases + base plates AND a lot of greys and browns, now that will sold out in less than 5sec!

I suspect they have plenty of stock... will be a bit for this to sell out. I agree - not that exciting for the average builder.

Popular with scalpers I think. There are a bunch on kijiji asking $70+.
I wish there were some wheels for making vehicles.

For the price it an excellent buy, if you want filler bricks, extras, or just want to beef up your collection. I picked up several in store, will be back there later this week, if there are any left will pick up more. Just seeing this now and Sold Out online, otherwise would have placed an order.

I thought this was an excellent deal and found this is in a local Calgary Walmart. Great for creative play with lots of basic bricks. I had been looking for exactly this type of set when my kids first started playing legos years ago. I also saw the online deal. In the store I was at they were on a pallet along with the large box of Duplo's. There were still lots of available when I saw them a few hours ago. Thanks to all here for the heads up on this. One can never go wrong with extra lego pieces!

What store in Calgary? I checked Royal Oak without luck and also missed the online stock. PM me if you want. Thanks!

It's sold out online now, but if anyone is buying for any toddlers, the Duplo one is still available: 10557, Giant Tower. Also $40, retail is $70 so that's ~42% off.

I found some yesterday at Westbrook Mall in SW Calgary. They had plenty of both the regular Lego and Duplo sets,.

Good to know. I was there on Tuesday and they said they sold out of them on Friday but she did say more stock was on the way!

Just 1 for me as I could not find it in-store. Already got shipping notification notice with tracking #. Good filler bricks for the kids to use with their builds.

It's a great deal if you are looking to expand your collection with reg. bricks - only comes around once a year- but I'd say that there are better sets out there if you are looking for specialty bricks and/or minifigures (as there are none in this box).

The one I nabbed earlier this week will be under the tree for my four year old. She'll love it.

We have the full Winter Village display set up at eye level for her and she spends all day playing with that. Will be glad to have some of her own.

This box is definitely an improvement over previous ones.

There are more slopes, jumpers and 1x1 w/stud-on-side pieces with a number of other specialty pieces.

There is a good list here.

Went out for bread and milk, came home with 3200 pcs of joy!! Milton's, Walmart must have put its stock out today and although the sign over the pallet says $60, they're $40. Skid was 3/4 full at 9:30pm (minus a couple now :)

I bought mine from Milton last Thursday, guess the scalpers on kijiji forgot about it.

Funny, other than this Black Friday promo, this Walmart never has any real decent sales on Lego. Other than Minifigs, can't say I've purchased any Lego from this store, certainly didn't think I'd come across such a stocked pallet on the eve of BF.
