Drayton Valley Walmart had some lego sets on clearance. I got the following:
Super heroes Rhino and Sandman Super Villain Team-up 76037 $20
Ninjago Master Wu Dragon 70734 $20
Creator 31038 $25
Creator 31029 $5
Mine Craft The Nether Fortress 21122 $40
Mine Craft The Desert Outpost 21121 $30
Super Heroes The Avengers Quinjet City Chase 76032 $50
Star Wars Imperial Assault Carrier 75106 $75
Star Wars Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle 75104 $75
Star wars First Order Transporter 75103 $50
There were some other Ninjago sets on sale and the sales person told me that they will be clearing out more sets as soon as it is approved by the manager.

Surprised about this, must've really not sold in that area of the country! No clearances like that in Ottawa
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
Just at the local Walmart while the wife got her nails done. Just the Black Manta deep sea strike for $25. They're moving bbq's etc into the area so they're moving things.
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
can you post the receipt
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
Didn't end up buying it. Although I DID stop at the Winnipeg Unicity location last night while my oldest was at piano, and picked up the following all for 50% off:
Jokerland $75
Deep Sea Exploration Vessel $75
Police Station $60
Avengers Quinjet City Chase $50
and 2 bulldozers $25 each
They had at least 1/2 dozen each of Jokerlands and Deep Seas for $75, also a bunch of the Ninjago Attack of the Morro Dragon for $40 instead of $90. Just at work, so I won't be able to post a receipt anytime soon. But keep an eye out at your local store, they're redoing all the shelves so I assume any of the above will likely not be a part of the shelf plan (or whatever it's called).

I've been following Toysnbricks for a few years now... and I've noticed a trend. Walmarts in Winnipeg get all the deals. I don't see anything like this in Vancouver.

You have to go to the places where supply is higher than demandlegolego wrote:I've been following Toysnbricks for a few years now... and I've noticed a trend. Walmarts in Winnipeg get all the deals. I don't see anything like this in Vancouver.
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
I agree. There is apparently some sort of economic crisis in Alberta, but you would never be able to tell from the Lego aisle in the Red Deer Walmarts. They're bare. The very few sets that do get put on clearance are only 20% off.legolego wrote:I've been following Toysnbricks for a few years now... and I've noticed a trend. Walmarts in Winnipeg get all the deals. I think it's also whoever is the dept manager at one of the Walmarts close to me, is a rockstar. Nothing more pathetic then "clearance" prices of $50 instead of $59.86. They price their clearance toys at this particular store to move. It was around this time last year, same Walmart, bought a couple small sets for the kids at 50+% off. I passed on a bunch of more expensive sets.

The Lego sale at my local N.Van Walmart was strong over the shopping season. After Christmas, the shelves were always 80% empty. Their inventory can't keep up with the needs. No clearance could be found there.

Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
The Walmarts in Barrie have started clearance. They have set up a toy clearance section and are putting stuff on it. The only lego set (so far) that I saw was the Princess Rapunzel set. Its a $49.86 set marked down to $40, which is a 20% discount. Since the set only has 290 or so pieces, its still not a very good deal in my mind. I don't know, it might have good bricklink part out value, but until it drops to below $30, no sale here.

I'm surprised this made it to the front page. The only place in Canada so far that has Walmart clearing out their Star Wars Lego is in Drayton Valley...and even that was a posting without an invoice. I've been to a few other Lego website forums and no other places in the country seem to be clearing Star Wars Lego...yet.
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
no need to post invoice,
use walmart.com,
search kyloren shuttle,
select store near T7A 1S7, and ... tadaa ! 50% off, but no more stock ;)

Oh wow, never knew that! Is it possible to ship from store to your house? haha
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
Each Walmart is different, and they don't price match other Walmart...
Got Simpsons serie 2 minifigs at 50¢ each around June last year, tried to got more in others Walmart in Quebec City without success, after talking with the store manager in one of the store he explained me HO doesn't allow them to price match the clearance of others Walmart.
BTW my local stores have no clearance on any Lego, and the shelves are almost empty except at the new Supercentre that opened last week.

Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
I am so mad. I went back to my Walmart today, and as I rounded the corner to the clearance shelf, i see two women standing in front of the shelf, each holding a copy of the new Quinjet set. They were marked $40. And they were the last two. $40!!!!!! If I had just been like 5 minutes sooner. I did find the Ninjago Morro Dragon set for $40 and they had dropped the Rapunzel set down to 20, so it wasn't a total loss, but I really wanted that Quinjet set. Sigh.

I went to 3 different walmarts and no clearances on Lego.
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
I hope no one on purpose goes to a Walmart hoping to find clearance Lego. I mean, your time must be worth more than minimum wage, non?

Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
My free time is super valuable, but if I am passing by a Wal-Mart and I have time, I will stop in to check. Esp. If I know there are lego sitting on the clearance shelf waiting to get a price reduction. We are talking about saving $30+ per set.. quite often easily $100 in savings. That is certainly worth my time and I make almost triple min wage.
Re: Walmart lego clearance YMMV
It is probably a little bit the thrill of the hunt as well. Realistically, sometimes it isn't worth the time. But if one finds the hunting enjoyable, then why not.legolego wrote:I hope no one on purpose goes to a Walmart hoping to find clearance Lego.
