This set has really gone bust on Lego. Even Doctor Who is not doing too well, both have been on and off and easily accessible at discounts though this is the best I've seen so far.

I have a feeling going forward we will see a lot less TV collaborative stuff out of IDEAS...

I'm really surprised. I expected the Dr. Who set to sell really well. Maybe if they had created a few more Doctors for variety. I wish they had created a 2nd smaller set with maybe 2 more doctors and a different villain. I thought that the Doctor Who set would appeal to a wide variety of ages.

As for the Big Bang Theory... I liked it. It was OK. The female minifigures looked a little strange. I'm wondering if the main audience of the show just maybe aren't into LEGO? Don't get me wrong I was happy getting a minifigure version of Sheldon and Raj... but it just wasn't my favorite set of the year.

I was actually wondering the same... if the sales of these two sets would affect the future of more TV related IDEAS sets. Then again maybe they have sold a lot of the sets. Maybe after the earlier Back to the Future set and the Space EXO suit they increased production of the Doctor Who and BBT sets and they just aren't selling as many as they predicted.. Does that make any sense? Sorry. I don't think what I was trying to say came out clearly.

In the time between the release of the BTTF and the Big Bang Theory sets TLG became the biggest toy company in the world. The volume of releases across themes has increased dramatically in the last year and I don't expect it to change until the bubble bursts (perhaps Q4 2017?). IMO, StClair is right-they've overproduced on many lines (Dimensions as an example) while the evergreens continue to soak up the consumer dollars.

Thanks for the heads up, hightrek. I just started watching The Big Bang Theory again last month for the first time since 2012 (I definitely needed a break from it), and had this set on a couple price watchers. $40 is the most I ever wanted to pay for this.
