News just in that, Toys R Us Canada will be offering 50% off the following themes between October 19-25, this has not been officially confirmed however. Thank you Brickset User TZI for the news.

I doubt many TRU stores still have Toy Story, Pharaohs Quest, and Atlantis sets left on the shelf.

I hope it's true, been waiting to pick up the large Alien Conquest set on sale.

They had Pharaohs Quest and Atlantis themes on for half off last boxing week. Some Racers sets were on for half off too at Toys R Us, Zellers and Winners. Toy Story and Alien Conquest themes were on clearance and cut backs at Walmart at some point in time. I thought Toys R Us would put Alien Conquest on half off on boxing week this year, but I guess they want to clear up inventory early for the January waves comming in December.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for this. I don't ever recall TRU putting so many sets at 50% off, plus most of the stores don't even carry these themes anymore, so it wouldn't make sense to advertise a Bricktober sale and have no stock.

Plus, QuagsireQing mentioned that we'd facepalm (in the other TRU thread) once we see week 4 sales. 50% off these themes is not facepalm worthy... I'm thinking more along the lines of 20% off all Heroes sets and save $5 when you spend $50 or more on a Friends theme. Maybe throw in a 15% off all Duplo. ;)

I was thinking 20% off on all Star Wars, with the facepalm being that the freebie the previous week was actually Star Wars themed :)

Agreed, nice deal by TRU (although small niggle: I always detest *up to* x % off' sales, feels like such a cop-out). Hoping there will be some stock of the 50% lines left when I get there!

You know, not a bad sale on the surface... but two of the MF sets I want to get, The Crazy Scientist & His Monster is marked up $5 over the S@H price and the Castle is marked up by $10....

For some of the Monster Fighters sets Amazon UK is probably your best bet! Way cheaper - just takes a while to get here.

I just picked up from Pizza Pizza a $10 off $50 TRU Savings Card. You're supposed to buy the $16.99 2 MED 4 topping pizzas + 4 pop combo to qualify for the Savings Card. But the manager allowed a $13.99 LG 3 topping pizza + 2 pop purchase instead.

FIne print on the savings card does say:
-multiple cards can be used with $50 increments
-cannot be combined with any other offer (so hopefully it'll work with the Bricktober offers)
-taxes applicable on price AFTER coupon

Going to use this tomorrow!

Just went and raided our local TRU (Saint John, NB). They didn't seem to have any Racers, Pharaos Quest or AQ (pretty sure they didn't have them for quite a while already). Did managed to pick up:

7066 Earth Defense HQ
7065 Alien Mothership
7067 Jet-Copter Encounter

To get the free polybag and minifigs assortment, so all in all, pretty good bricktober for me! Two sets 50% off the first week, three the last week.
