Question about Power Function Bricks

Post by toystest » Fri Jul 30, 2010 7:48 pm

With The holidays coming up... well in a few months at least. I was thinking about putting some Power Brick lights in my modular buildings. Does anyone know how many of these lights are needed to light of the cafe corner?

Do you have a power functions battery box yet? If not, you might want to look into eLites Jr. It comes in black or red. It's really compact and allows for four LED connections.

No I haven't bought anything yet, I was just starting research into what to get. The problem with the small batteries is that it takes the 2032 batteries and those things get drained so quick. I would like to install these lights and they'll be on for hours on end. I need something that will last a few weeks on one set of batteries.

Yeah the idea is to build the modular (green grocer, cafe corner, etc) sets and use power bricks to light them up. I am open to suggestions if you have any tips please let me know.

I agree with vynsane. You might want to consider using LifeLites. I've yet to use them, but I know some people over at FBTB use them to light up their models. For example, Ace used them to light up the MIDI-scale Falcon.

Depending on how you want them lite up and if it's just a general light inside the building you might be able to get away w/ using some cheapie lantern-style units (for example, ones shaped to look like Coleman lanterns). That might be cheaper than getting official Lego LED. I'll see if I can dig up a link to some of these if you are interested.

Work with a 9V train motor? I lost my train lights.

Also has anyone tried to motorize the half off windmill set?
