I have to admit I was not confident about my chances after seeing some of the amazing builds entered

Congrats to striderhiryu, enjoy the Town Hall. Also kudos to the others who entered. I tried to build a mini train station, complete with train, but it looked like spew so I gave up. Mini modular scale is clearly not my thing. :) Can't wait for the next contest.

Congrats guys!

I was just happy to get some votes! It was my first original MOC, and getting a few votes made me feel like it wasn't a complete failure! So thanks to those who voted for mine!

Congratulations to striderhiryu and dilbert12! I also want to extend kudos to everyone who entered there were so many fabulous entries, that it was REALLY hard to vote. Nice work everyone! I'm inspired to make an entire city of mini modulars!

Thank you to Ice and TnB for sponsoring the contest!

Hey don't feel bad echax. This contest had a lot of really great entries. Sometimes that's just what strikes people as interesting sometimes.

As it was I completely forgot to vote. Kind of feel embarased about that, but I've had my head buried in a fairly big model I've been working on for the past two weeks

My congrats goes out to the winners. Excellent work!

As for those who didn't recieve points I want to point out that the real test of your skill is to ask yourself, "Are you Happy with your design?" If the answer is yes then you've done your best.

I always found that contests like these seldom reflect how good of a builder the contestants are but how well something is recieved by those who are voting.

I also want to point out that contests can be extremely tough on a person's self-esteam. In fact, I entered one contest where they forgot about my entry for nearly an entire day of voting. That was not a great contest for my ego.

I think the fact that you get a chance to participate in contests makes you a better builder since it gives us perspective on what we build. Just take it with a grain of salt though. There's no sense in letting it discourage you from a hobby you love.

Hope that helps.

Will

@blackpyre - nice comments and sound advice. I had fun with this and approached it as more of an opportunity to get to know how to use LDD with an actual goal in mind. I was happy with my build and I learned a few things looking at other builds, so I guess that's all that counts.

That makes three of us! Getting a few votes made me feel like I did something right! This was definitely a fun contest, and won't be the last that I participate in.

Thanks to those who threw their votes my way, and congrats to the winners!
