[Technic] 42000 Grand Prix Racer - 1st pix!

Post by BrickWild » Mon Oct 15, 2012 12:03 am

Someone got his hands on a early version of this racer and put it on Ebay! The auction was ended when the seller understood that this was a mistake made by TLG.
All pictures that are available are from that auction.

Great looking set. I wonder how much it will retail for.

I see the appeal, but I'm not really a fan of these kinds of Technic. I'm all about the industrial/construction ones with lots of gears, transmissions, motors and all that jazz.

Looks like the Williams F1 racer with some slight mods.

New record for set with most stickers? Great-looking model; if the price is right, I'll definitely pick one up.

Meh, what does it do? Too many stickers.
I like the Technic models that have great functionality. Nothing tops the models from the 1980's and 1990's.

Very Pretty. But I like motorized Technics with functional parts. I favor remote controlled models.

Looks nice, but I'd rather get one of the Ferrari technics from a few years ago, or the Williams one. Still, if people missed out on those (which I did for the most part), that's a pretty looking set for me at least.

Instead of the technic Ferrari F1 racers, I ended up getting this a few months ago to get my fix for a Ferrari set: http://brickset.com/detail/?set=8157-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Had to pay 1.5x of the price but compared to what it was regularly selling for nowadays, it was not too bad of a deal I suppose.

This is now listed in the US on TRU's site: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... d=17476046" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
$140. Out of stock at the moment, but there is an 'notify me when available' option if anyone is interested.
